Very friendly people, good service. Everyone speaks english. Nice, big room and lovely bath room(419). Clean room. Good bar, but expencive (1 glass white wine 15-20 euro, while the bar "next door" is 3 euros). Very good breakefast! Especially if you have a nice window table.

The hotels in Europe are not like those in Far East or in USA in terms of new buildings, new decoration, kind and helpful staff. Westin, however, was different than those old and worn out Eurpean hotels. It was surprisingly comfortable, clean, and nice. It is close to all main attractions as well as to waterbus stops. The breakfast is very... More

We stayed at this outstanding hotel for 4 nights and welcome the opportunity to rave about the experience. As we arrived into Venice by train, we walked to the nearby water taxi stand and were taken right to the hotel dock. Check in was friendly, informative and easy. Although on a lower floor, our room was extremely spacious with a... More

Stayed at Westin Europa Regina for 2 nights room 250 overlooking Gran Canale and Dogana. Knew what I paid for and got it (except shower in bathroom... Strange how little things like this in an otherwise bewildering quest for perfection can leave you wondering). So superb location, superb room (bar shower) and special mention to Marco the academy award looking... More

This was our first visit to Venice and we were staying at the Westin Europa and Regina. We were only in the city for two days so we wanted to stay somewhere close to St.Marks square. The location of this hotel is absolutely wonderful. It is walking distance from the square and allows easy access to all the main sites.... More

Average hotel, not as expected for a 5 star hotel. Employees are not very friendly, as if they deserved everything, as if the customer is the one who needs to be grateful for paying for the hotel. Two lamps were not working, also hairdryer. When you checkin to a 5 star hotel you expect everything to be ok. Asked for... More

The hotel is a bit tucked away but is right on the Grand Canal. Walking to it (with luggage) is a bit of a challenge. The staff was gracious and accommodating. I stayed in two different rooms, the first did not have the canal view but was quite large with a wonderfully large bathroom. I did notice however chipping on... More

The hotel is conveniently located off the Grand Canal, but it is tucked away in a rather awkwardly-located square down a narrow back alley if you are approaching on foot. We were upgraded to the largest room in the hotel with a very nice view of the canal, but unfortunately, the room shared a wall with the elevator and it... More

It's costs €60 to take a water taxi from railway station at Venice mestre to the Westin dock. Instead, I decided to take the vaporetto which is Venice's equivalent to a bus. After getting off at st. marks square, a porter asked if we needed help with our bags. I initially declined the offer but he persuaded me after stressing... More

From top to bottom I can't see any fault at all. The staff are very welcoming and the service we received are way beyond expectation from Daniella, Elsa and all the staff. The concierge was so helpful to us When we ask him Where to find a place to eat which is affordable. I will definitely come back to this... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
