this is a great hotel. We have stayed a few times in the past and we are always glad we came back. In a good position away from the crowds but near some lovely restaurants for dinner. The rooms we have had are large by Italian standards and over look the Grand Canal. Nice bathrooms, good air con. Breakfast is... More

We spent 2 nights here mid month waiting for our cruise. It was PERFECT. Great service. Excellent breakfast and if you get out there early you can snag a seat on the balcony. Very comfy beds. Quiet room with no noise from neighbors. The bathroom was large and well appointed. Space was tight in the bedroom but we've stayed in... More

We travelled with our two teenage grandchildren and had a wonderful time. We took water taxi from the airport, and it was 110 euros well spent. They take you directly to this lovely hotel with landing stage on the grand canal. I believe shared water taxis and the vaparretto deposit you at San Stae, which although relatively close (7 minute... More

We stayed at this hotel following a cruise in 2014. The rooms were very pleasant and no complaints there. The location is a little tucked away and quite difficult to find so a GPS system is highly desirable. The bar tender / waiter Ernesto seemed to do most of the work in this hotel and was really excellent. However, it... More

Great location right on the grand canal. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Paid a little extra but got a room on the third floor with a balcony which was over the alleyway but which had a view of the grand canal. Hotel is decorated classically with large paintings, murano glass lighting and antique-looking furniture. Comfortable bed, good wi-fi, clean,... More

My wife Dianne and I, stayed at this beautiful hotel from the 9th to the 15th of August... And were made feel very welcome by Gio. All our questions and concerns were taking care promptly and efficiently. Ernesto was very helpful and caring. The following day we went for breakfast and were made feel very welcome by Anna Maria.... Always... More

This quaint classically Venetian hotel is in the perfect location. On the Canal in a quiet area not far from anything. The single room was small by modern standards but certainly very comfortable, clean and air-conditioned with great wifi. The staff were excellent, very helpful, considerate and friendly. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Stayed here recently after making a quick reservation before our car tour of Italy and we were not disappointed at all! Firstly, getting to Venice by car is very easy, just drive till you must park. We parked at the Centralle parking lot in Piazzale Roma, very easy in grab a ticket and they will direct you (in English) to... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
