A really comfortable stay in this friendly and cosy hotel situated on the great canal. Although we did not manage to get a canal side facing room, we had booked a double room and received a triple room with a lovely court yard facing view. The room was large, beautiful and clean. Would have like to have tea and coffee... More

Stayed for a 4 day break for my wife's birthday and got the water bus from the airport to Sa Stae and then walked over 3 canals (cafe assistant on way put us in right direction !) to find this lovely Hotel tucked away but in a beautiful location right on the Grand Canal and we stayed in a Deluxe... We stayed here for two nights. Room was very small. View from deck on to Grand Canal was very nice. Breakfast was decent. We would not stay here again though. The older gentleman working the front desk was terribly rude and condescending. He was the most unhelpful and arrogant hotel employee I have ever encountered.

After getting lost, even with google maps we arrive to to this charming hotel after running through the maze of Venice. The rooms and the bathroom are clean and ample. Good service and a central location, 5 minute walk from the Rialto bridge.

Me and my husband spent our anniversary here , it's a lovely quiet place , hotel was clean , staff was friendly and polite . We had a 2nd floor room easy to access even though there are no lifts it wasn't problem . We will return to this hotel but would be asking for a room with the main... More

The nice Hotel is located about 10 min from Rialto and nearest Vaporetto station (S. Stae: 15 Euro to the Airport). The fish market is just around the corner. Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean, but a bit small.

Perfect location. Not too far to walk from pier when taking water boat taxi. Close to main shopping. Beautiful view of Grande Canal from Breakfast room. The breakfast were delicious. Especially a specialty chocolate on the pastry tray one morning molded when a wonderful creamy center and maybe some liquor in it. Hotel room was on small side but larger... More

Beautiful little hotel in a beautiful historic building. From our arrival in a water taxi to its jetty, we knew we would be happy in San Cassiano. The staff were obliging, the interior was decorated the way it ought to be (chandeliers, dark red walls, antique furniture), lovely views of the Grand Canal from the breakfast room and the jetty.... The hotel is right on the Grand Canal and was a great location for exploring the Rialto Bridge and St.Mark's Square. The staff were extremely helpful throughout our stay, at both reception and the hotel bar. (and they even sent us specific directions on request to help find the way from San Stae water station). We had 3 rooms between... More

The quaint small single room is definitely more than enough for a solo traveller. It's clean and has a large bathroom. Granted that the hotel itself was hard to find, especially in the dark first time in Venezia, it was still worth it. Close to the Rialto bridge and most of the main attractions. View from the breakfast room is... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
