We stayed 1 night at this hotel before our cruise. It was important to us that it was close to the people mover (to the cruise terminal) and bus station. Only 1 bridge and about 2 minutes from bus stop! We were 3, me and my 2 boys. Had a triple room on first floor and it was quite good.... More

We stayed here the night before we left on our cruise and it was fantastic. First off, it is very close to Piazza de la Roma so easy to find. We came to check in around 12:30, expecting to be able to just drop our bags but our rooms were already ready! We had a beautiful view of the canal... More

My Brother in law and I stayed in the Arlecchino hotel from the 21/07/2015-24/07/2015.its Ideally situated, nice staff, a pleasant room, and the breakfast was plentiful. Overall, a big thumbs up. Noel

Enjoyed our stay at this traditional, centrally located hotel. Just 2 minutes walk from the bus station and a few steps from the Grand Canal, it's easy to see why it's popular. Add in the friendly staff and high standards of cleanliness, makes The Arlecchino a winner - we will go back and we recommend to others.

Had a great night at this hotel. Room was clean and nicely decorated, although incredibly small. Breakfast was filling with plenty of choices. Great area. We walked from the bus from the airport and walked to the train station.

We stayed here two nights, July 10th and July 19th. One before our cruise and one after. For transportation purposes this hotel is in a great location. The water buses are close as well as the people mover to get to the cruise. The hotel teams up with the hotel next door (Best Western Olympia) for food and we popped... More

Arlecchino is in a perfect location for those arriving into Venice via the bus. You can actually see the hotel from the bus station, and it takes about a minute to get there (very convenient when carrying luggage - those staying elsewhere may have a long walk which can be tiring in 30 degree heat!) The hotel itself is lovely... More

Very easy access if arriving by bus, car or train. Rooms are small, but that is pretty standard. Service is friendly. Be careful when booking though as when we did it it was listed as we asked for a double but were quoted single. Had to pay a reasonable surcharge when we got there for exactly the same room. Does... I booked this hotel after reviewing comments. We were taking a cruise so the location couldn't have been better. Adjacent to the train, buses and other public transportation. Staff was fantastic, room was nice but very small, which isn't unusual for Europe. Maybe other rooms were larger, but we had a canal view so we didn't care. Venice is a... More

Wonderful hotel. Highly recommend. The hotel is in a great location close to the train station and close to some good local restaurants. Yet it was very queit and in a nice area on a canal. It was easy to walk all over Venice, including going to San Marco’s plaza. The room was very comfortable and clean. Everyone at the... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
