Stayed here for 3 nights after a cruise. Easy walk across the square from the people mover. Also easy to hire cars and train. Hotel has a lift bonus. We stayed in room 902 would definitely recommend this room lovely balcony with views of the canal. Table and chairs allow for you to spend sometime after sightseeing to watch the... More

Hotel Arlecchino in Venice is absolutely fantastic! We made reservations online with ease requesting a single room with two beds and a view of the canal, and we got just what we asked for. The hotel is conveniently located right in the Piazzale Roma, so if you take the shuttle from the airport (€15 round trip) you can see it... More

The best advantage this hotel has is its location. It is located just 3 minutes from the bus stop and the people mover. We stayed at Hotel Arlecchino for 2 nights prior to a 12 day cruise. While other people complained about some of the noise from the canals, we appreciated being able to look out our first floor corner... More

The choice for this hotel was mainly for it's close location to the People Mover and Bus/Train station once we got off our cruise ship. My family and I didn't want to move all our bags all the way across Venice. This hotel was amazing however! The room was huge and the location right on the grand canal was beautiful.... More

Our family of four took two rooms here for two nights at the end of a 14 days European trip. The primary advantage of this hotel is its proximity to the bus lot from the airport. While many in Venice can be seem humping bags up and over bridges to get to their accommodations, this is just a short jaunt... More

We stayed one night at Hotel Arlecchino before our cruise. We were looking for a nice hotel that was close to the bus station and port so we would not have to drag our luggage too far. The hotel was in a perfect spot! We took the bus from the airport and were dropped off at Piazza Roma. From there... More

Very nice and accommodating. Easy to find. We took a bus from the airport, should have taken a taxi instead both dropped off at the same location. Take Taxi to the cruise ship for $20.00 so easy and they drop off much closed than the people mover monorail. Hotel had balcony with views of canal. Bathroom was small but ok... More

We stayed here prior to our cruise and found this to be an excellent choice of hotel. First of all, the hotel was so easy to locate from the Piazzale Roma after we took the airport shuttle. One simply has to orient themselves toward the trees and canal at the end of the bus terminal and look left to see... More

At a crossing of two canals, close to the bus station, the train station and vaporetti, Arlecchino on Santa Croce 390 ; Fondamenta Delle Burchielle, is a top score. The view from the windows over the canals will entrance you for hours and the rooms with balconies with a glass of wine and good company .... the rest is up... More

Stayed here a night before our cruise and it was fairly easily accessible from the station, only 1 large bridge a a little one. Also in close proximity to Plaza Roma where you get the people mover to the port. The rooms though were tiny, enough room to walk around the bed just. Breakfast was great and wi-fi ok. Had... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
