We returned to Al Sole for second visit, celebrating our wedding anniversary in the beautiful city of Venice. As before I booked direct with the hotel and they offered me an excellent rate for the Junior suite. This was located on third floor (lift available) with windows overlooking the canal, the street and the garden of the hotel, an ever... more

My daughter and I stayed at the Al Sole while we were on a mother/daughter trip to Europe. They made us feel very welcome right away. Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The ceilings were very high with likewise, very tall windows. This made the view from our window just fabulous. It was like having an ever changing... more

I am surprised to see some titles of a few other reviewers in the style « stay away or worse hotel » and I wonder if they are talking about the same hotel! - location: taking Venice into consideration, the quarter of Santa Croce, is perhaps one of the best you can stay. It is a short walk from the... more

I liked the historical touch of the hotel ( = ancient palace) the terrace, breakfast room and lobby where clean, well maintaned. We liked to eat breakfast on the terrace and breakfast was good ( yougurt, juices, fruits, croisant..) The room was a pleasant suprise, not luxurious but clean, quite large, pretty large bathroom with shower cubicle ( bathroom was... more

We were very pleased with our accomodations at the Al Sole. The 50 Euro upgrade for the balcony/canal -view room was well worth it. Spacious, airy, and well-appointed, with lots of windows overlooking garden/terrace in back. Great bathroom with tub and shower! Good location for walking around shops and sights. Security and helpful staff made our brief stay more than... more

Venice. Al Sole Hotel. 2 couples stayed for a week in May '08. Good location, not far to drag cases from bus station. Very lucky with weather and large size of rooms kept it nice and cool inside.Bedrooms are tall and airy and ours were very quiet with all we needed apart from tea making facilities. Buffet style breakfast is... more

This is a perfect getaway for a romantic weekend. The hotel was only a three star, but I'd give it a 4 star. We were welcomed from the moment we walked into the beautiful lobby. The staff provided more than enough recommendations on getting around the city, food, entertainment. We would stay there again. It's on a quiet side of... more

I'm rubbish with directions, however, even I managed to find the hotel after only a 5 minute walk from the bus stop! Excellent location for bus terminal, vapporetto, gondola's, bars etc. Hotel was virtually faultless in mine and my wife's eyes. The room was of a good size and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentiful and of a good standard (I... more
