My partner and I have just returned back from a 3 night trip to Venice staying at the Monaco Hotel. I can honestly say it is the nicest hotel I have been too. I was traveling with my father, so I expected beds quite separate, but I found that they are an inch apart and I would say 3/4 full, so they probably have an insert to make them into a king. Lovely hotel, quite quiet. Fantastic location - convenient for everything in Venice and spectacular view from the terrace restaurant. Bedroom a little on the small side, mould in the bathroom off putting and surprised that 'bed and breakfast' meant you got a bit of dry bread and coffee and everything else was charged for more

Fantastic location - right on grand canal - 5 mins from St Marks. Stop directly outside front of hotel for water taxis. Hotel has complimentary water boat for guests wishing to visit a glass blowing exhibition - recption staff happy to set up trip. First destination on our honeymoon and did not disappoint. Superb location seconds from San Marco Piazza, Doge's Palace and the surrounding sights. On the canal side with excellent views and ideal for that evening stroll. Dinner on the canal side terrace was superb and waiters very attentive. Spent a lot of time researching before we went in Feb 09, but could not have found a better location. Right next to St Marks Square pier. Walked everywhere so didnt buy boat pass.
