Depends on if you can afford it! £800 for garden view room with breakfast per night. Good points: excellent location accross the lagoon from St Marks square on the peaceful island of Guidecca - 24 hour free boat transfer always running which is fantastic to escape the crowds of San Marco; rooms serviced every day to high standard and very... Yes, it is insanely pricey. There. said it. What you get in return is a wonderful welcome back from EVERYONE, who all remember your name from the last visit. You also get stunning views, the world's best chocolate gelato, the boat ride back and forth to St Mark's, the peacefulness of being able to get away from the crowds, and... More

The location, elegant interior design, remarkable landscape design, exquisite food served in the Restaurants, warmth of front desk service, efficiency and friendliness of all guest-contact staff and Management (GM Giampaolo Ottazzi), the gigantic pool and the lavish buffet breakfast are outstanding! No wonder the Belmond Hotel Cipriani is internationally renowned and acclaimed! The best 3 days (22-25 July) I've spent... More

Loved the location, the welcome from the doorman, the food. The rooms do need refurbishing but I believe they are planning this. Lint from bed linen sticks to your clothes so not good. The last day of my stay, I missed breakfast as I wasn't aware of the timings but the restaurant informed me to head to the bar for... More

The Hotel Cipriani has it all...a postcard perfect location, beautiful rooms, pool, grounds and public spaces, and superb staff. A world of uninterrupted peace and quiet just a short boat-ride away from glorious Venice. If you are familiar with five-star properties around the world, think of Cipriani as a six-star. A few days here are wonderful but not enough!

This was our first visit to Venice & the Cipriani and we wanted a hotel to escape the crowds, the Cipriani is just perfect for this; a haven away from the crowds and a perfect location. The service however is disappointing and not what I expected from the Belmond Group, having stayed at several other hotels in the Group. The... More

Booked and paid a room in April for a much planned trip with friends. Unfortunately we were forced to cancel as my father in law got extremely ill and was forced to stay in intensive care. Being 85 we knew they would need us around in the days to come and knew that we would not be able to use... More

We stayed for three nights after travelling from London on the Orient Express. The Cipriani was a wonderful experience: everything is done so well and the staff took the greatest care of us. We ate in all three restaurants and they are all excellent in different ways. A special trolley just for different types of olive oil at the Oro... More

Just come back from an exceptional week at the Cipriani - this was my 5th stay and it gets better every time. I can't think of a hotel anywhere in the world which has such fantastic, charming and friendly staff - who are so really well trained and professional. This all contributes to making one's stay really so relaxing and... More

We just returned from an exceptional stay at the Cipriani (actually, we were shown to our favorite accommodation in the Palazzo Vendramin with views across to San Marco). Every detail is perfect and the service is unmatched (well perhaps matched by the service at sister property Villa San Michele outside Florence where we also stayed). Special mention must be made... Staying in Giudecca

Neighborhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.
