Hotel Cipriani is like another city in Venice. After long hours of sightseeing in the centre, we always came back to tranquility and peace. Room views, gardens, swimming pool made us relax after a busy day. Restaurants are delicious, stuff is very very friendly. There is a boat which goes to the centre and back every 30 min! Best place... More

The Cipriani is a splurge hotel - fantastically expensive, iconic and legendary. The service is impeccable and delightful, the public spaces are wonderful, and the location is spectacular. Staying in August, the huge and beautiful swimming pool was a tremendous benefit (unique in the city), and the utterly reliable water shuttle between the hotel and St Marks Square afforded us... A beautiful hotel, set in wonderful grounds. The food, service and ambiance were first class and although the beverages were a bit pricey, they were worth every Euro. This hotel is a must if you're going to Venice.

Stayed here to surprise my mum who was arriving on the Orient Express.Everything from arrival to departure was truly a 5* experience. The moment our water taxi arrived we were met by Luigi who expertly guided us through the hotel, checked us in and guided us to our room, explaining everything we needed to know about the room functions and... We are long time travelers (40 years) throughout Europe and US. None of us has an idea of what heaven is like, for those who believe as we do in that final resting place, but for us, we picture it like the Cipriani. We have stayed in the Gritti Palace and Danielle but the Cipriani is in a class of... More

I don't know how anyone could give less than 5 stars, a beautiful hotel inside and out, friendly, helpful staff. The rooms were enormous, the bed was huge (can you tell that I don't normally stay in places like this?!) it was very special, the breakfast was very, very nice and the restaurants in the hotel were lovely. We didn't... More

This was our third visit to Venice and second stay at the Cipriani, which just oozes glamour and sophistication - one can imagine Liz Taylor and Richard Burton in their heyday swanning through the lobby! The staff are charming, friendly and attentive, the rooms spacious and beautifully decorated with balconies or terraces. Both the main restaurant and Club Cip by... More

We arrived with several others but were welcomed warmly and the check-in process was quick and efficient. Our room was very large and, with a garden view, had a spacious private terrace with sun beds, table and chairs. Throughout our stay, staff were friendly and efficient. A complimentary boat service runs across to a private landing in Piazza San Marco... More

Staying at the Cipriani was the fulfilment of a long held ambition. The depth of skill and experience of the whole Cipriani team is so welcoming and warming. Many grand people stay there but 'ordinary' folk like us were just as welcome. The style of the food at Oro is a work in progress but, like everything else, it will... More

This review is late in coming because I stayed at the Cipriani in October 2012 in conjunction with a trip on the Orient Express. First of all I was given a room in a building adjacent to the hotel. While the room was beautiful, as a single female travelling alone I felt rather isolated there and requested a room in... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Cipriani embodies 50 years of glamour and legend, la dolce vita Venetian style, with a peerless view to the grand Palladian Church of San Giorgio. This is the Venice of everyone's imagination. The Cipriani is only three storeys high and has that classic, comfortable, "lived-in" grandeur. It is a perfect blend of historic and contemporary Venice - opulence tempered by simple elegance; antiques and works of art offset by innovative touches of unbridled luxury. The grounds are breathtaking: small gardens, expansive lawns with vines clinging to ancient brick walls or trellises and an Olympic-sized heated swimming pool, as well as a clay tennis court and a wellness centre.
