We visited Cipriani's for lunch and the hope of a dip in their pool. Lunch at Cip's was fabulous. The food was pricey, but the quality and the service, exceptional. As we are not hotel guests we were not permitted to use the pool area, instead sitting next to the pool at the bar. A little disappointing for us, but... More

Fabulous food. Wonderful service! We enjoyed every course that we had. My teen age daughter said that it was the best lunch of our trip. We really did not want to go back to the hustle and bustle of Venice. You know you are in trouble when the check arrives in a gold box! Can't wait to go back.

We stayed at this hotel for ten days. Everything about this hotel was 6* except for the food in the restaurants, which were in great locations next to the sea. However the food was more 4* but at 6* prices. This applied to all meals. For example at Breakfast the bakery items were below par. eg; the croissants were not... More

Celebrated my 27th wedding anniversary here, it was gorgeous. Our room was pleasant and very clean but would book a room with a balcony overlooking the lagoon next time instead of without balcony! Nice to be within water taxi distance of San Marco. Spent our first evening on a gondola trip that the hotel kindly organised on our behalf...so romantic... More

Class, style, privacy and old world service set this hotel apart from the many parts of Venice which can be over-run & rude. We just stayed for lunch and were treated respectfully and with a sudden down poor of rain that stopped all the water taxis from answering calls and running the concierge was able to get through and ordered... Stayed here for two nights before embarking a cruise. We organised a private transfer from the airport which is the ONLY way to arrive at this hotel. We were greeted by a very happy and smiley head concierge and then swiftly escorted to the reception. Again we were greeted exceptionally well by all front desk staff and then shown to... More

I have stayed here several times over the last two decades. It is a wonderful retreat from the hustle & bustle of busy, noisy Venice at the beginning & end of the day. Great pool & lovely green spaces, peace & quiet. Jetty welcome always brilliant, reception good, concierge always positive & polite. Restaurant & bar service not quite as... More

My family and I booked an evening at the Cipriani while we were visiting Venice. The service was poor and the food was poorly prepared. Examples were pasta not completely cooked and Creme Brûlée that was burned beyond recognition. Both were sent back. It took half an hour to order wine and another half hour to receive it. This is... Location is amazing and because the property has gardens and a large pool area, you feel refreshed away from the chaos of Venice. However on a few fronts things were not up to scratch. We were travelling as part of a group and hence had 3 rooms in the same category and one much larger suite. Of the three same... More

What an amazing hotel, perfect location, and a short boat trip to the hustle and bustle when you need that fix! The staff were fantastic, Roberto helped us with a mix up of our luggage...he's a legend! At the end of our stay my husband said he could live there!! We'll definitely be back!

Staying in Giudecca

Neighborhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.
