Situated in quiet neighborhood, this b&b is a quiet spot to rest after exploring the hustle and bustle of Venice. Clean, wonderful breakfast, beautiful garden, prompt and efficient service. A true gem.

Allo Squero can be challenging to find/get to, but then most places in Venice are, and this place is definitely worth the effort. My GPS was very helpful in getting us to the right location. Our room looked out onto the canal and it was very enjoyable saying "Ciao" to the occasional passing gondolier or boater (shutters available for privacy).... More

Very conveniently located, at a walking distance of major attractions but yet in a quiet area of the Cannareggio sestiere. Very good restaurants a few minutes away. A very helpful owner suggested wonderful places to eat close by, attractions, transport, etc. Would definitely stay here again.

A lovely B&B that was a pleasure to stay in. The room was quite large and the bathroom was spotless with excellent fittings. We also loved the comfortable bed. Breakfast in the garden was a lovely way to start the day. Our host was delightful, very welcoming and could speak a number of languages. The B&B was relatively easy to... More

We have just spent 3 nights at this B&B. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room was clean and quite large. Very quaint garden to eat breakfast and enjoy the quietness. The wifi was excellent, breakfast was sufficient and enjoyable less then 5 minute walk from Ca d'ora bus station. Would recommend it to those that are sick of big... More

Pros: Great location for airport water taxi. Quiet and good size room. Breakfast was really good. Fresh fruit, good toast and jam, and coffee and juice. Felt like an oasis in the middle of a city. Cons: Wasn't really a con but we had the room that has its own bathroom but it is down the hall. We didn't mind... More

Stayed here 2 nights in May and loved it! Andrea made us very welcome and, seeing our box of tea bags, he sorted out a kettle for our room. He also sorted out a firmer pillow for me which was much appreciated. Breakfast was so relaxing as served in the pretty garden. We had hoped to stay 3 nights but... More

We stayed 4 nights at Allo Squero in April. From our room overlooking a quiet canal, we enjoyed a sublimely peaceful retreat in Venice. Andrea and his wife were welcoming, helpful, and extremely professional. The room was spacious and the bathroom was well-appointed. It felt homey, safe, and was a great value! We would definitely stay here again.

We just finished a 3 night stay with Andrea. We absolutely loved the accommodations and location. We were continually surprised at how completely quiet Venice became, just walking the couple of blocks off of the heavy traffic areas to this charming B&B. The room was of good size, clean, and we enjoyed the large private bath. Wrapping up our 11... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
