Plenty of room, with tea service and refrigerator in room. Nice breakfast space and generous time to eat- 8-10:30. Fabio was welcoming and helpful in solving a problem. We loved the location in terms of catching the boat to the airport (although give yourself plenty if time, sometimes the first boat is full). It was also just out of the... More

Before we arrived Fabio was quick and efficient with emails. When we arrived he was just as efficient in person. He was there on check in and out and was able to answer any queries and give advice. He was always a text away during our stay which was nice to know even though we didn't need it. The b&b... More

When one thinks about Venice, one generally focusses on the Piazza San Marco, Doge's Palace, Grand Canal, Rialto Bridge etc. Very rarely does the Jewish Ghetto figure in the itinerary for Venice. If you are looking to experience the lesser known but no less majestic charms of Venice then you must base yourself at Le Guglie B&B. Experience how is... More

We stayed there 2 nights in April 2014 just before embarking on a cruise ship. We wanted to experience Venice and this was a great location to use as a base. Literally 3-4 minutes walking distance from the Grand Canal. We requested the room with a view on the canal and we were not dissapointed! The room was clean, big... More

We couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodation provided at Le Guglie. From the process of booking to arrival, we found the owner Fabio's communication to be prompt and excellent. We booked the room overlooking the canal and simply loved it! The room itself was spacious and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was fine, even though there isn't a lot... More

We stayed at Le Guglie for three nights. The B&b is located 5 minutes by walk from the Central station and it is really easy to get around all different locations. The area is quiet but near a restaurants, bars and shops. Perfect if you want to enjoy Venice! We get al lovely room with view over a canal. Really... More

We stayed at le Guglie BnB for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We had the upstairs room that had a balcony which was lovely. There was loads of space and Fabio is very funny and inviting. It was much cheaper then hotels we looked at in venice and to be honest I think we got a lot more... More

I stayed at Le Guglie some years ago and this time I brought two friends with me. Unfortunately there are no single rooms and so we shared the apartment which worked out very well. Fabio's mother was there to let us in and was so welcoming. We went straight out and were hardly in the rooms at all though we... More

I stayed at Le Guglie 6 nights, 29 July to 4 Aug 2013 as a single traveller, EUR80 per night booked direct with Fabio, the Owner. This was my 4th visit to Venice and I enjoyed it so much more keeping right away from Piazza San Marco and settling in around the Cannaregio district - basically one long street from... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
