We decided to try the B&B concept and Gio & Gio had a good rap in the UK daily Telegraph and this was supported by reviews in TripAdvisor. We booked the Junior suite and can highly recommend it. It is a large room with a small balcony overlooking one of the more minor canals leading to the Grand Canal. Breakfast... More

We stayed here last summer with friends. We had 2 of the 3 rooms. The rooms are fine, location great. Overlooking a canal...the gondolas pass by with singers ....like a parade. If you want uber quiet this is not your spot. What I liked was the location and the price. It is very small. So if you are there with... More

Dear host, unfortunately we are not able to give a precise answer because it's been too long from your stay and we cannot evaluate exactly. We have to assume that when you arrived we were out Venice and we were helped at the check-in from a collaborator. We host in our home, not in a hotel, and it can happen... More

We stayed one night before a cruise and were very happy with the room and the hospitality. We were in room 2(of 3) which did not have a great view(in fact it looked out onto the side of another building), however, the bed was very comfortable and the room very clean with good efficient air conditioning. There is a fantastic... More

We stayed with Gio&Gio for 2 days over the weekend and it was a great choice! We stayed at the Righe room (double bed room) as the junior suite was already occupied. The room was located near the walking street of venice, hence you could hear some walking and talking noises of people if you open the windows. Once you... More

Booked this based off reviews on tripadvisor and couldn't have been happier. First, super easy to find from the grand canal, which if you have never been to Venice, finding your hotel can be daunting. Location is amazing, right by San Marco and close to all the other major attractions. Gianni was in contact with us the whole time and... More

We stayed in the Junior Suite for a 2 night break for our Honeymoon. We text the owner to meet us from the Water Bus, he was there ready to show us to the B & B. It's only a 2 minute walk. The B & B is beautiful. The owner gives you loads of help and information on a... More

We chose Gio&Gio because of its convenient location in San Marco and also based on positive reviews of other guests. We also chose room #3 (or junior suite?), which had a balcony overlooking the canal. Overall, a great experience, accommodation was great, amenities just what we needed. There are a few oddities that you need to be aware of: -... More

First of all we would like to thank you for the many positive things, it was a pleasure to host you and we are happy you spent a pleasant holiday in Venice and in our b & b. As for the directions to reach our b & b and the airport, we want to apologize if there were some misunderstandings... More

Great place to stay, homely feel, great location in S. Marco area. Really enjoyed our visit and would recommend to anyone visiting Venice We took the water bus from the airport to Gigilo (€27 return each) and was met by Giovani to take us to Gio & Gio which is only two minutes walk from the Gigilo stop. We would... More

My girlfriend and I stayed with Gio and Gio in February for her Birthday and Valentines day. We took a water taxi from the airport which took us straight to the door via the Grand Canal and water ways. We were met by Giovani who was a charming host and most helpful. Our room was beautiful and overlooked the canal... More

This is a great place to stay - fantastic location and really nice and relaxed. You are shown your room and then left to your own devices for the rest of your stay. The suite is definitely worth the extra money - so nice to be able to look out over the canal. Breakfast basic but perfectly fine and nice... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
