The people of Ca'Zora could not have been more helpful. We arrived very late and got completely lost on arrival but Filippo was our saviour. I have never been more happy to see someone. We were told all the best places to visit, all the best restaurants to eat in and all the places to avoid. As this was our... More

Located in the heart of Venice we travelled to ca'zora in winter when it was much more quiet than carnivale or summer. None the less we stayed here with the two lovely owners who were happy to help with absolutely everything. Our room was fantastic with a comfortable bed. I would recommend Ca'Zora to anybody travelling to Venice at any... More

Couldn't be happier with our stay. Had two nights in August and wish I'd stayed longer. Very good spot which is close to st marks but also away from the tourist part. Room was decent size, with a huge bed and Quality air conditioning.

This was our second stay at Ca' Zora and we specifically booked the ground floor apartment again with its own little courtyard, which is a lovely suntrap to have breakfast. The location is brilliant, just off Campo Santa Maria Formosa, and only a few minutes' walk from St Mark's. But it does take some finding! Once you know your route,... More

But when we recieved the room key we were surprised to see that it was a really big Appartmetn with a nice kitchen, big bathroom with a very nice interior. We had a great time at your place and the price is more... More

We stayed here for two nights. One of the owners, Salvatore, recommended a few restaurants / taverns for us to check out and also gave a few tips on how to avoid tourist traps. We strayed from his advice a couple of times and discovered that Venice can get very expensive. However, when we followed his advice, we were rewarded... More

The size of the "apartment" was big and well equipt with mostly everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the location was accessible to everything. It took a while for the place to warm up, which was freezing when we arrived. Also, the communication between us and the owner was near to nothing. The kitchen was the plus. The... More

We stayed 3 nights at Ca' Zora. We had a spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with lounge and kitchen. The Filipo gave us a map and highlighted the sights and some great places to eat. We try a few and the food was amazing. The apartment is in a great location, close to St Marks Square, but not too... More

Ca Zora is conveniently located - 5 mins from St Marks yet in cheap local area - and was a great find. Everything was clean, the air con worked well and the whole place was very spacious. The kitchen facilities were fine. Owner gave us helpful tips etc. too, which was very useful. The only issue we really had was... More

We stayed for 4 nights in a spacious apartment with living area, separate bedroom, small kitchenette (included grill, sink, portable stove, pans, cooking utensils, lots of cutlery) and clean bathroom. Filipo checked us in he was very helpful giving us suggestions to where you can find local venetian cuisine without the crazy tourist price tag. It was easy to find,5-8 min... More

Thank you so much for the great review! Just one thing. There was no bed bugs! Bed bugs are a plague for any innkeeper in the world. And if you get them, you need to get the room cleaned by specialists. It happen to everyone everywhere in the world. We double-checked the room when we read this and there was... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
