In May 2015, I was able to return to Palazzetto da Schio in beloved Venice. With my friends, I spent a week in the beautiful rooftop apartment overlooking the canal. With two gorgeous bedrooms and two bathrooms, we enjoyed a lot of space and tranquility in this tastefully decorated and most comfortable place. We felt very welcome and at home,... More

I don't think you could find a better place to stay in Venice than this spacious, beautifully furnished apartment (#2). Located in Dorsoduro, just a five minute walk to Santa Maria del Salute church and not much further to the Academia Bridge, and yet -- because it is a residential area -- as quiet as the countryside at night. The... More

My husband and I stayed at Palazzetto da Scio for three weeks in May2015. Our stay in Apartment No. 2, on the top floor overlooking the garden was just perfect ! What a delightful apartment, complete with beautiful family antiques, totally spotless, and equipped with all the modern conveniences. A large well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room, and a large... More

The water taxi delivered us to the door of the Palazzetto da Schio and we were initially greeted by the Contessa's charming and friendly maid as the contessa was busy settling in other guests. Within minutes the contessa arrived to welcome us and show us how everything worked. Nothing was too much trouble and from the start we had the... More

I am almost reluctant to post a review about Palazetto da Schio in the Dorsoduro section of Venice for fear my praise of this lovely spot will mean there won’t be room when next I try to book into this “find!” There are four different and classically-furnished apartments to rent in this small palace on a quiet canal adjacent to... We have now returned for the second time to the Palazzetto da Schio, and are just as enthusiastic about it now as we were after our first stay here a year ago. Our apartment (we chose the same one both times) was on the top floor overlooking the garden and the tile rooftops of Venice--quite a view. And the neighborhood... More

It was our great good fortune to be able to join friends at the Palazzetto da Schio. Our apartment on the top floor of the palazzetto was the perfect accommodation for two couples, with spacious bedrooms for both and a grand living room between them. The kitchen was small but well equipped, entirely serviceable for breakfasts and light dinners --... More

The super market on the Zattere is going to change management in January, and it will be as good or even better than it is now! Thank you and I hope to see you again! More

The apartment (#2) was all that the Contessa promised: stylish, well appointed, tranquil and convenient for the Grand Canal, just across from St Marks. We received a warm welcome and a thorough briefing on the apartment and the Dorsoduro neighbourhood, including where to eat and shop from the Contessa da Schio, who lives in the Palazzetto and is and ready... We stayed in Palazzetto da Schio apartment from September 15 till September 22, 2014. Renting this apartment was one of the best decisions we ever made. The house is beautiful, easy to reach from any point of arrival. It is located in quiet aria and in the same time it is close to main point of attraction of Venice. The... More

I stayed at the Palazzetto da Schio for the first time some years ago, and was happy to come back now with friends. It was as lovely as I had remembered it. We stayed in appartment No.3 overlooking the canal, which is simply beautiful. We enjoyed having two large, tastefully decorated bedrooms with their own bathrooms plus an elegant, comfortable,... Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
