Visited this hotel in Aug'15 and found the hotel very comfortable and pleasant. Our room was on the third floor. Although windowless, it had a skylight which served just as well. The room decor was very pleasant and their white and gold theme for the room made it very appealing and comforting. We didn't really miss having a window for... More

We stayed here on our honeymoon in Venice. The room was beautiful and the staff was very helpful showing us places to visit and booking theater tickets. The breakfast was nice but nothing special. It had all you can expect and if you wanted something else like a omelette you could order it for an extra charge. I loved the... More

Beutiful room in Venician style enhanced the atmosphere of our romantic trip to Venice (I want to point out that the rooms would work great for families or friends as well). Breakfast was as expected in a small hotel, not much to choose from but good. Service was without fault. The location was quiet.

we stayed 2 nights on a city break. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was comfortable and clean with a king size bed and firm mattress. It has a central location and they serve a fine breakfast.

Booked 4 rooms for a holiday with my wife and 2 kids, my brothers family and my parents for a family holiday. Great hotel. Rooms clean and comfortable with a traditional look. Hotel clean and fantastic choice for breakfast. Staff very helpful even down to lending a brolly if there's a sudden rain storm. Great location, my parents both in... More

Stayed here in the family room, which was fantastic as two rooms, so the boys had there own room. The staff were great and very helpful I would absolutely stay here again. Walking distance from the train station and only 20 minutes to the sites. Thank you for a great stay...

My mum and I stayed here for one night. Having come from the airport shuttle bus we found it quite easily from the car park - just follow the yellow signs to the musuem naturale! The only down side to this was pulling our case up the 3 mini bridges- but in doing so you are not alone! We arrived... More

This hotel is close to water bus station of S. Stae but if you take water taxi the driver will drop you off right in front of the alley where the hotel locates. It is very convenient by either way. From the hotel to visit every place on the main island is easy, as at S. Stae you can take... More

I picked this hotel based on the positive feedback on tripadvisor and the fact that it was a quick walk from the train station. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made! This little gem is located in a quite section of Venice and a stones throw from the Grand Canal and San Stae waterbus stop. The staff... More

Hotel staff were all terrific, helpful, to the point. Check in was quick and easy. We stayed 5 nights and managed to get the best room, 101, perfect for a family of three. The hotel is located away from the main city centers in a quiet part of town. Perfect location as it is an easy walk to Rialto. Breakfast... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
