First let me say Mateo was great. Communication in advance, texted and met up with us to make sure we found it properly. Room was clean and fine, especially considering the rate. It was a double with a view of the courtyard. Breakfast croissant, and juice was good enough to get us moving and seeing the sites. Comfortable Double bed,... More

As per the title, location is great. It is really right in the centre of Venice, easy walk to everything you might want to see, but tucked away in a little lane so not to loud. Room was on the third floor, where you don't actually get served breakfast, just a croissant each given outside the door, I think the... More

The location of the hotel was perfect. Very close to Rialto bridge and other attractions. I suggest you bring a map as negotiating Venice is tricky. We received a very warm welcome. The room itself was very clean and had a new bathroom although the shower head wouldn't stay up at a decent height to stand comfortably under, making it... More

To start, I don't think I stayed in the same place as some of the other reviewers. We did not meet any staff other than the sometimes rude girl at the front desk. She would actually sit with her back to us and go on the computer in the middle of us asking a question. I first thought she was... More

This hotel does not look much from the outside, but our room was lovely. It was very spacious and the bed was quite comfy. The staff were very friendly and Matteo even met us from the water taxi very late at night and walked us back to the hotel, giving us a mini guided tour on the way. He also... More

Massive room, had a view of the canals and we could hear the gondoliers when they passed. Breakfast was passable but coffee was great. The room itself was massive, clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were very happy with our stay.

Although the accommodation was spacious and central, there is room for improvement. The plumbing was poor ( water flow, heating, smell), noise insulation was poor (we could hear people walking outside at night) and breakfast was minimalist.

Stayed there for a few nights with a couple of friends. Fabulous location - close to San Marco. Very friendly staff. Beautiful room which would have suited a couple better than 3 people but it was very nicely decorated and made us all feel at home. Our room was next to the kitchen so we were lucky to have breakfast... More

This place is located close to san marco. Very nice! The staff is very friendly, specially carla. The room is quite big with a canal view. We had a nice bathroom with enough towels for the whole weekend. They provided us with a city map and some tips! Great

Good location of the hotel, nice staff. But the room we had didnt correspond of what was expected when looking the website. We had a kind of appartment which was very cold and internet was not working. The breakfast was really poor also. I think in this b&b either you're lucky and you get a room which is on their... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
