Very convenient and cozy apartment very close to Realto Bridge. Very central but very quiet. At the nearby street everything necessary - supermarket, food shop, bakery, some non expensive restaurants. Nice and helpful host. When next time in Venice-will definitely stay in this place!

Super nice apartment, fit 8 people easily. Hot water in the shower, pots and pans and everything in the kitchen. Andrea was super helpful and nice. The location was good, Piazza San Marco was just a 5-10 minute walk away. Great weekend!

After being many times in Venice I decide to take my family (6 adults) and I booked the (Cappuccino) apartment for 3 nights. Mr Hugo promptly contact me with all the details to make our stay easier. You cannot ask for a better location, just minutes walking from the rialto bridge, supermarket and many, many restaurants. The apartment itself was... More

We stayed in app. Espresso for five nights. It was really comfortable, clean, well kept and very centrally located. We had a great stay and I would recommend it very much. The only reason for the four stars instead of five is that for me it was too noisy, not in the small street itself, but in the adjoining streets,... More

As we were travelling in a group of 3 adults and 2 children, we wanted to stay in the same room.  The apartment (Cappuccino) allocated by Mr. Hugo to us was perfect to meet our needs.  The apartment space is considered ample in the space-conscious city of Venice.  The price for the apartment was a good deal since we were... First things, first -- the apartment is in a terrific spot, close to Rialto and a very short distance from St. Mark's square. The apartment has the basic amenities but is run down a bit. There is mould in the bathroom, the shower head is loose and needs repair and the kitchen is minimal and sparsely equipped. The apartment had... More

Thank you for your review. I'm happy you did enjoy the central position of the apartment Cappuccino. We have some bigger apartments, but this one is a small sympathic and not so expensive solution! The kitchen is a minimal proposition as we didn't want to dedicate it too much room (the old houses in the city center are made of... More

I hope to add photos shortly We have just returned from a 3 night stay here. Booking was easy- we made an enquiry about availability on the website www.cafelice.com and had a prompt reply. Hugo, the owner asked for 100 euro electronic payment or credit card details as a deposit. We gave credit card details but paid the full balance... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
