Located at the edge of the tourist area, this little B&B only has 3 rooms. Two rooms shared one bathroom. We stayed in the room with canal view and shared bathroom. The magnificent skyline of Venice is clearly visible from this particular room (see pictures). The B&B is managed by a nearby hotel called "Tribute to Music". It is where... More

This was a lucky find. A very well situated B and B close to all major attractions. There is also a water bus stop just a few yards away. We had a lovely clean room with a view of the canal and a private bathroom. The staff at the check-in place were very friendly; they walked us to the property... More

Very beautiful place, nice rooms and lounge and quiet place, good breakfast, also you can use the freezer in your rooms. We went there this August and stayed in a double bed room with lagoon view. Me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the view from the window is really very nice, specially in the night, we enjoyed with... More

Excellent location, nicely decorated. A decent size and very clean room. We had the Canal view with private bathroom in our room. The view was beautiful from our room looking out over the sea. The breakfast was very good compared to most B & B,s we stayed in on our tour of Italy. It was beautifully set up in a... More

This place is well located. Close to the city centre, but far enough from the busiest places. The rooms and bathroom were all clean, the house was absolutely quiet at nights, the breakfast was satisfactory. Olga took.good care of us. Venice is just too expesive :)

This BnB is situated on the promenade very close to the Arsenale stop. Excellent location. St Marks square is walking distance and the proximity to Arsenale makes it very easy to commute. The BnB itself is nicely maintained and clean. They have a a couple of rooms with a view of the sea and the others with none. Bathroom is... More

Stayed 2 nights as part of a 16night Euro Roadtrip and this little place was a real find! Check in was at a different place so we found this by asking a local cafe (just as you get off bus at Arsenal) and they were very welcoming. Double room was lovely and the private bathroom just accross the hall with... More

Picked this because of location and OK Tripadvisor rating. Overall satisfied. The location is on the far side of the Riva degli Schiavoni, ie quieter and more airy than most of Venice. The two Biennale main sites are extremely close. Staff was pleasant and helpful. They gave us excelent advice for restaurants. Good breakfast, served in a dedicated kitchen shared... More

We were very happy with our choice in this small B&B, which offers a single room with external private bathroom and a suite of 2 bedrooms and sitting room. We had the single room, which was clean, roomy and comfortable. Being in the back, there was no view, but the advantage was that the room was very quiet. The staff... More

We originally booked our room with A Tribute to Music and were offered an upgrade to the B&B. The apartment was further away from San Marco's square than the hotel which meant a little more walking. The apartment was palatial and extremely clean but the air conditioners did not help at all in 90+ degree weather. The view was superb... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
