We actually stayed here by mistake, but a pleasant one. We thought we had booked the Rialto Hotel but then found out it was the B&B Rialto. We arrived by river taxi from the airport which I would advise as the public transport would be around a 5/10 min walk through busy packed streets with lots of steps to navigate... More

B&B Rialto is an old house converted into a B&B so it is lovely and small with a communal kitchen, balcony and breakfast area. The delightful host Luciano met us at the water taxi - get off at the FISH MARKET, turn right, cross the small bridge and B&B Rialto is one of the houses on the left. First time... More

We stayed at B&B Rialto for one night during a European trip. We pulled into the Venice train station as it was getting dark and a big mistake was not having clearer directions (although I had printed a map but in Google the street names are "modern" and in Venice, they're traditional so they don't match up). In fact, my... More

I have visited Venice several times and stayed in a variety of hotels, including one with a balcony on the Grand Canal. This B & B was a great value considering the location and communal balcony. It was very comfortable and the location was central and very conveniently located. Initially, I had a little difficulty finding the place--if you book... More

Just a short distance from the Rialto Mercado vaporetto stop. One small canal to cross. This B&B couldn't have a better location or views. We had the 3rd floor triple with private bathroom. Lovely toiletries, towels. Clean and comfortable. I had the roll away bed and it was really comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with a fully equipped kitchen. I would... More

B&B Rialto is literally opposite the Palazzo Santa Sofia commonly known as Ca' d'Oro, so the view is wonderful - much better than the expensive hotels on that side of the Grand Canal. No view of the Rialto Brige, though, that is further along the Grand Canal and around a bend, but within easy walking distance. [More on that later]... More

Super friendly, clean and great location What more could you ask for, exceeded our expectations, don't let a shared bathroom put you off, that was our only"not sure how this is going to go" concern....... No probs

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
