One of the many well-deserved five star ratings. Great quiet neighborhood. Short walk from train or bus station. Two flights of stairs to reach the lobby. Fancy decor- truly a Venetian Palace. We stayed in the apartment next to the lobby area. Michele was kind enough to let us check in early- what a nice surprise after traveling for 20... More

Saw this had good reviews but whatever I put doesn't say just how good it really is. We stayed in Carravaggio which is 3rd floor (lots of steps) but the lounge and bedroom all overlook the canal. The décor is opulent, very renaissance. Lovely bedroom with high ceilings and chandeliers, ditto lounge, good cooking area and great bathroom with Jacuzzi.... More

I stayed here with my wife in April 2015 and we absolutely loved it. The location was great, and Michele (the owner) was extremely accommodating and friendly. He arranged for us for tickets to a Vivaldi concert, he arranged for a late check out and was extremely helpful in little tips as to great places to eat and for recommending... More

It is especially due to the great service that Michele provides that I give the Palazzo Odoni 5 stars. I stayed at the hotel with my girlfriend and we had three amazing nights. Michele helped arranging a surprise tiramisu and champagne, free of charge. Can definitely recommend Palazzo Odoni to everyone.

Everything you see in photos, films, books etc and what you imagine a hotel in venice should look like, this is it...its a stunning building inside and out with a courtyard that's lit up at night time with candles that looks like something straight out of a photo shoot..our apartment was everything we hoped it would be,with a huge bed, jacuzzi bath, amazing decor and... The hotel is right next to the drop off point from the airport (take the bus, not the water tax£££i)! It's on a quiet little canal with a bakery and cafe just doors away. Lots of restaurants a bit further into town. The hotel was all decked out in Christmas wears. There's a beautiful original courtyard, and then you go... More

A lovely apartment, modern, spacious and clean. Location is great, close to train station and far away from the tourist traps, yet many cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. The owner, Michelle, is very gracious and helpful. If climbing stairs is a concern for, there is a long flight of stairs to get to the apartments.

My husband and I stayed here for a week during our honeymoon to Venice, it was EXACTLY what we were looking for. It wasn't right in the middle of the Rialto or San Marco crowds, but gave us more than enough room to enjoy a week's stay. We both felt that it really gave us a genuine Venetian experience. The... Our first time to stay in these apartments and would return. We stayed for 1 week and had so much comfort and room. Lovely comfortable bed, could sleep in it forever. Lovely and quiet but yet magical when you go out onto courtyard! Had stayed in this area before, it's so handy to all transport and has a large supermarket... More

Excellent hotel and service. Our suite was located at 2 levels and very spacious overall. We certainly got more than we expected for the money. The owner was also very friendly and helpful. The location is quiet but within walking distance from all Venice attractions.

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
