My wife treated me to a weekend stay at the Odoni as part of my 60th birthday celebrations. The Palazzo is close to both road and rail links into Venice, 5 minutes at most. Behind the main steet doors lies a very attractive courtyard, very atmospheric at night. We had a lovely suite with its own terrace, breakfast was good,... More

This was a beautiful spacious apartment that enhanced the lovely time we had in Venice. Staff was lovely and Michele the owner made sure he was there to greet us on arrival. The apartment overlooks a canal and all is easily accessible. Great restaurants and casual eateries all within 500m. Easy walk to the Vaparetto (water buses) as well as... More

I stayed at this hotel last July and I had an amazing experience. The hotel is central and located in a quiet area. The staff was great and welcoming, they made us feel like we were at home. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and had a good variety of food. The croissants were my... More

Wonderful apartment suite overlooking one of the side canals in Venice . Ideally located if you want o be near the arrival/departure areas for air/train/bus , in behind the Roma area . Wonderful quieter neighbourhood , away from the main tourist areas . Full 1 bedroom apartment , with kitchen , dining area and large bedroom . This is a... More

Michele was a great host as many have commented: helpful when required but otherwise unobtrusive. Our apartment - Tiziano - had three great views including the canal. Close to Dorsoduro district which has great walks through to the waterfront - much more pleasant and less crowded than near San Marco. A beautiful ride back from there up the Grand Canal... More

We stayed here 3 nights and absolutely loved it! We wished that we could have stayed longer. Our apartment had a kitchen and the living room was huge with big windows overlooking the canal. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. Michele was very helpful in getting our luggage up the many stairs (not for mobility challenged people) and... More

The hotel photos are a accurate. The staff is great. The continental breakfast is good. Rooms are small and likely unchanged for 20 years except for bathroom. ~400m from train/bus station. About 20 minute walk to San Marco. Shops in area of hotel are about 15-25% less than San Marco.

Dear Texastrav, for sure you review a wrong location because my Residence Palazzo Odoni doesn't have rooms and breakfast. The Residence has suite/apartments from 45 to 70 square meters and not small rooms... Probably you booked at Palazzo Odoni Bed & Breakfast, another location and another management. I reported the problem several times to Trip Advisor but without success... More

We have stayed twice now at Palazzo Odoni, the first time being 8 yrs ago, and we have recently stayed there again. Both times the hotel rooms have been great and the service is outstanding. I would highly recommend this hotel.

A big thank you to all the staff at the Palazzo Odoni. My daughter and I have just returned from a 3 night stay to visit Venice (which is the most unique city in the world). The Palazzo is perfectly positioned in a quiet area but just minutes from the bustle of the bus and train station and plenty of... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
