Stayed at the Residence Palazzo Odoni as part of our family vacation in early August 2015. We arrived in Venice from a long ride from Rome and was met by Michele (the owner) at this quaint lovely apartment/residence in an area of Venice that is within easy walking distance (but not too close, it's a few islands away) to the... We wanted something quintessentially Italian and overlooking a canal in Venice, and that's exactly what we got. We booked online about 5 months out from our stay using Trip Advisor and communication with the owner Michele was excellent, in regards to our initial enquiries, booking and arrival suggestions together with a map! On arrival we were greeted by someone who... More

Location is excellent for arrival by car or train. We arrived by train from Milan and it was a 10 minute walk from the station. When leaving we were a shorter walk to the bus station to get to the airport. We had a very comfortable apartment with a bedroom, main room with sofa bed, a kitchen area with fridge... More

Stayed here with family in July. We stayed at the Tieoplo suite which was comfortable with two rooms which was perfect. The room is equipped with a kitchenette in case you decided that you had enough of pizzas and pastas. There is no breakfast at the property however there are couple of breakfast options nearby. The property is away from... More

- Location is not far from the car park which we can get the discount of San Marco garage when stay here. - The staff of the hotel is very helpful - The restaurant near the hotel (on the left site of the hotel) is superb. You can ask for the recommendation from the staff at the hotel. - Breakfast... More

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the apartments at the Residence Palazzo Odoni for three nights in late June. We traveled with our 12 and 10 year old kids. The apartment was excellent and plenty spacious to accommodate us very well. We didn't really use the kitchen, most of our meals we dined out. However, if one... More

Palazzo Odoni is perfectly located for Venice. Easy access by foot or boat to anything you want to see and close to the parking area so you don't have to drag luggage deep into the city. You do have to climb a bunch of stairs to get to the lobby then more to the room (that is typical of everywhere... More

It's a good traditional venetian experience. The room is huge! With kitchen, living, bathrom and your room. The place is a bit old, but no problem about that. Great location, with acess to water taxis or 3 minute walking to regular taxis to airport/port or 5min walking to train station. People were very gentle with us when we arrived. Good... More

This was a warm, welcoming, clean apartment within walking distance to the bus station (but not too close). We had plenty of room and there was a nice-sized bath (which our 4yo appreciated). The location is a little removed from most of the main sights/touristy areas of Venice, but it is such a small island that we didn't mind walking... More

We stayed in Residence Palazzo Odoni for 3 nights of our honeymoon and the apartment made the stay all the more special. It just felt like a genuine, traditional palace from the entrance and courtyard to the canal views from the balcony windows. Gorgeous place to stay.

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
