This place had a lot going for it. Large sitting room with kitchenette, canal views, comfortable beds, quiet and handy to the railway station. At the same time it's not far from all the major locations such as the Academia, Saint Mark's etc. We'd definitely stay again.

We booked Palazzo Odoni in the very busy days preceeding the formal opening of the Biennale when Venice experiences a real scarcity of accomodation at reasonable prices. We stayed in the suite which was very comfortable, with ample space for luggage and very quiet. The bathroom was not big, but with all the amenities you can expect in a higher... More

Thanks Michele for an excellent stay in Venice. We had a canal view room which was definitely worth the extra money. Luxury rooms, convenient location, plenty of places nearby for food and drink and so close to the train/bus station too.

Just spent 2 nights here in April and we had a wonderful time! Alessandro was a great help at the front desk, the rooms were well-appointed and the breakfast delicious. Staying in Santa Croce is definitely recommended as it is away from the touristy spots and you feel like you are in your own neighborhood. The rooms were quiet, we... More

Good things Location is good: walking distance from train station and car parks, good if you have a lot of luggage. Really charming, goes very well with spirit of Venezia. We stayed in the 2 bedroom accommodation in the ground floor, convenient for families. Things to improve Breakfast can be improved with more variety. Staff at breakfast can be more... More

One of the many well-deserved five star ratings. Great quiet neighborhood. Short walk from train or bus station. Two flights of stairs to reach the lobby. Fancy decor- truly a Venetian Palace. We stayed in the apartment next to the lobby area. Michele was kind enough to let us check in early- what a nice surprise after traveling for 20... More

Saw this had good reviews but whatever I put doesn't say just how good it really is. We stayed in Carravaggio which is 3rd floor (lots of steps) but the lounge and bedroom all overlook the canal. The décor is opulent, very renaissance. Lovely bedroom with high ceilings and chandeliers, ditto lounge, good cooking area and great bathroom with Jacuzzi.... More

I stayed here with my wife in April 2015 and we absolutely loved it. The location was great, and Michele (the owner) was extremely accommodating and friendly. He arranged for us for tickets to a Vivaldi concert, he arranged for a late check out and was extremely helpful in little tips as to great places to eat and for recommending... More

It is especially due to the great service that Michele provides that I give the Palazzo Odoni 5 stars. I stayed at the hotel with my girlfriend and we had three amazing nights. Michele helped arranging a surprise tiramisu and champagne, free of charge. Can definitely recommend Palazzo Odoni to everyone.

Everything you see in photos, films, books etc and what you imagine a hotel in venice should look like, this is it...its a stunning building inside and out with a courtyard that's lit up at night time with candles that looks like something straight out of a photo shoot..our apartment was everything we hoped it would be,with a huge bed, jacuzzi bath, amazing decor and... Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
