Amazing location, perfect blend between quiet, local neighbors and access to touristy areas. The B&B was very clean and comfortable, amazing balcony in two of the rooms overlooking the canal. Marco's breakfast offerings were more great and he was very helpful in helping us to figure out how to get around. Could not recommend more!

Marco is a wonderful host, full of information and recommendations. The room is spacious and simple with clean toilet.Breakfast was a bit lacking - no eegs, no fruit. It consisted of bread, cake, jams, Nutella and yoghurt and coffee. The location is a bit off from tourist center but then thats how you get a taste of living like a... More

Marco was friendly and helpful, before arrival he provided contact numbers and brilliant instructions on how to find the B and B. On arrival he sat us down and gave us a map on which he pointed out the main tourist attractions and wrote down the main travel options, including how to reach the airport. We stayed in a standard... We visited Venice at the beginning of July and stayed at B&B Casa in Laguna based on TA reviews. We could not have been happier. Marco is a wonderful host, full of information and recommendations. The room is spacious and simple and the bed is amazingly comfortable. We stayed in room 4, which has a terrace/balcony overlooking a canal. It... More

We booked Casa in Laguna based on TA reviews and we were not disappointed. Marco's communications prior to arrival gave very clear instructions on how to get to the B&B by vaporetto. Arriving by train from Rome it was easy to find the vaporetto platforms right outside the main entrance. You just have to make sure you get the correct... More

We stayed here during a swelteringly hot couple of days in Venice June 2014. We were worried beforehand that our room would be hot but it had air-conditioning so no problem there. We stayed in the superior room (#4) with a balcony at a well-trafficked canal - lots to watch during breakfast in the morning! I recommend staying in one... More

Marco was very friendly and helpful during our stay! Provided excellent recommendations as to how to enjoy Venice and to top it off, made a cappuccino for us every morning with breakfast! The room was clean and comfortable, and very spacious - much beyond our expectations! Would definitely recommended and would stay again!

This is a residential area, so you feel like a local. 2 of the rooms have a balcony directly on the water canal and for us this was just fantastic since we were staying there for 5 nights. Some breakfast we brought out to the balcony, some evenings we brought in food and had a nice evening meal there. The... More

The reviews we read were right! We have stayed at a number of places in Venice over the years and this was easily the best. We paid a little more for a room with a terrace overlooking the canal (Rio di S Giustina) and out to the lagoon, and loved the atmosphere, as a wide range of craft use this... More

We paid a little extra to stay in room no3 which has a balcony and private bathroom, money well spent as the view gives you the feeling of being in Venice and the bathroom is spotless and modern. Our room was spacious and clean although there was a slight issue with feathers coming out of the duvet! Breakfast was typical... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
