Stayed here for 2 nights in October 2015, and was extremely pleased with our choice. Location is perfect, (8 min walk from Ospedale water bus stop , and also 10 mins from Rialto bridge, as well as to st marks square. Our hosts Franco and Marco were very helpful, and the room was large, with a large bed and plenty... More

I love Venice and this was a real Gem of a find, the balcony was a nice touch to sit out on an evening with a bottle of wine. The apartment is close by a water taxi rank straight to the airport. Also there are quite a few nice restaurants 5- 10 mins away. The B&B was very clean and... More

I have been in Casa in Laguna at the end of March 2015. The house is really nice, new and clean. Mr Marco and his father are really friendly and available to provide very useful information about the city. The location is really good. The first day you will probably get lost! we did but it is a nice experience... More

Being situated on the Rio di Santa Glustina, you are able to wake upand have coffee and breakfast looking out on to the beautiful canal. The room was clean, the B&B manager was very charming and was always more than happy to help. There is towels and a hair dryer in the bathroom which ideally saves on luggage space. There was... More

Marco and Franco are great. They are always available to answer any questions and made our stay very pleasant. The best part about the room is the balcony overlooking the canal. It is spacious and comfortable. We had breakfast there everyday and even brought back pizza to enjoy it at night. The room is amazing too. Very clean and spacious.... More

Amazing location, perfect blend between quiet, local neighbors and access to touristy areas. The B&B was very clean and comfortable, amazing balcony in two of the rooms overlooking the canal. Marco's breakfast offerings were more great and he was very helpful in helping us to figure out how to get around. Could not recommend more!

Marco is a wonderful host, full of information and recommendations. The room is spacious and simple with clean toilet.Breakfast was a bit lacking - no eegs, no fruit. It consisted of bread, cake, jams, Nutella and yoghurt and coffee. The location is a bit off from tourist center but then thats how you get a taste of living like a... More

Marco was friendly and helpful, before arrival he provided contact numbers and brilliant instructions on how to find the B and B. On arrival he sat us down and gave us a map on which he pointed out the main tourist attractions and wrote down the main travel options, including how to reach the airport. We stayed in a standard... We visited Venice at the beginning of July and stayed at B&B Casa in Laguna based on TA reviews. We could not have been happier. Marco is a wonderful host, full of information and recommendations. The room is spacious and simple and the bed is amazingly comfortable. We stayed in room 4, which has a terrace/balcony overlooking a canal. It... More

We booked Casa in Laguna based on TA reviews and we were not disappointed. Marco's communications prior to arrival gave very clear instructions on how to get to the B&B by vaporetto. Arriving by train from Rome it was easy to find the vaporetto platforms right outside the main entrance. You just have to make sure you get the correct... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
