The host was very very rude, they charge extra for wifi, the rooms are old and with broken walls, the rooms nor the bathroom are not clean at all, the blankets have lots of stains and I even got an insect inside the bed. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all, I'm not exagerating it is the worst experience I've... More

A bitbof a rabbit warren on the inside, but otherwise not too bad. For the price it servedvto be a convenient one night stopover which was in close proximity to both the bus stop and the people mover. The room was spacious, however the bathroom was extremely tiny, made even more so with the inclusion of a full bidet.

Do you want soft fluffy pillows, modern spacious rooms, glistening bathrooms, endless breakfast options, functional room furnishings, a big screen TV, plenty of wardrobe & drawer space? If so, go somewhere else. The location of this hotel, enables one to look past many many faults too numerous to mention. A 3 star rating might be a stretch. The room was... More

don't give importance to the first image! Infact the faced of the hotel is a little old but when we reached the room we changed our mind. Room nice and spacious. The personel of the reception is very nice. They gave us precious advices to better spend our time because we had only 1 day to visit the city and... More

The hotel was very easy to find it's right round the corner from the main bus stop. It's located on the grand canal so if you pay a little extra you can get a room with a view. The hotel itself was quite dated and has a musky smell. It's very basic but fairly clean. The hotel is perfect if... More

I book this hotel for me and my family because we were looking for a family room for 4 near to the train station and cheap. They gave us a very spacious room with a nice view on a little canal. In the morning a nice parfume of croissant used to wake up us ( breakfast room was just on... More

nice hotel for a short break. We slept there two nights and we are quite happy about our choice. We booked a standard double room room and we have a nice quiet room overlooking the little garde. We are thinking to came back here during the summer to profit the garden as well. It was great to have the possibility... More

We stayed at this hotel last week for 3 nights, room was clean, had a lovely view overlooking the canal. Breakfast ok, but hot water out of the machine not hot enough for making tea. Decor a bit tired, garden needs a good tidy up, would have been nice to be able to sit outside, as the weather was lovely.... More

If you looking for the good location near to train station, this is the ideal place for you. But apart from that hotel needs massive reconstruction. Old. Bathroom in horrible condition. Receptionist welcomed us in sweatshirt. Absolutely no go! Breakfast ok, you won't leave hungry. Wifi is paid and very poor. But room very warm. If you like super super... More

This hotel is very charming and cozy, we loved it. We stayed for three nights. We had a nice romantic room with a view over the canal. Everything in the hotel is venetian style, love it. The staff is nice and helpful. The location of this hotel is good, near piazzale roma, we took the bus from the airport, easy... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
