I booked Ca'Pagan as a treat for my mother and myself. We have visited Venice before but decided to stay in a different hotel. I chose this hotel after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed at all. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were greeted with lots of information about the local area and... More

The hotel is located near the San Samuele waterboat stop on a quiet lane. I like that it is quiet and not in the tourist area. The guy at reception, Modi, was very welcoming. I left my bag as I arrived early and my room was not ready yet. So went for a walk - the hotel is a few... More

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much! The staff was extremely helpful with directions, recommendations on food, and water taxi information. We stayed in a classic room, which is small but comfortable for us. We brought the wrong type of electrical adapters, but the front desk let us use several of theirs, very nice. Breakfast... More

We stayed in the Marco Polo room and found it to be just as pictured. Large bathroom (for Venice) with a great shower, immaculately cleaned daily. Decent sized bed, quite a hard mattress. Minibar is reasonably priced. The chilled bottle of Prosecco on arrival was lovely and a great start to the holiday - book through their own website to... More

My husband, my 9 yo son and I stayed there for 2 nights in November, 2014. We loved the decoration and the room, clean and cozy. The staff was always helpful and friendly. Venice is a very pedestrian friendly and safe city, you can basically walk everywhere from the hotel.

We had a delightful cozy stay at Ca'Pagan. Our room,"Chippendele", was elegantly decorated. The hotel is located in a quite area, which was good since we were there the last day of Carnival, and it makes you get to explore a little without being too far from the sites. The staff were very nice and freindly, gave us good directions... More

We choose this casa based on Tripadvisor's reviews. This very nicely decorated guest-house is startegically located close to Accedemia bridge, 10 minutes walk to St Marcus and Rialto and 50 meters from a Vaporato station. The rooms (we took a deluxe) are small and irregular which makes the effective space even smaller. The bathroom is 2X1.5 m' and the shower... More

Stayed at this hotel over the festival weekend. On checking in were met by a very nice man who provided us with a map, he suggested a number of quality restaurants and locations to visit. He then informed us that we had been given a free room upgrade! Hotel decor is amazing, walls covered with beautiful fabrics, old antique funiture.... More

We stayed for two nights during the first carnival weekend and had a fantastic time! The room was clean and the decor was what you would like to think a Venetian hotel would be. The staff were really helpful and friendly. But the best feature about the hotel was the location. Just a ten min walk from the St. Marks... More

Today, I'm trying to remember every detail of our little stay in this cute place, but all I remember is that this place is love. :) I cannot even remember the name of the gentleman in the reception but he's been great with us! We stayed in the cute little vintage red room (forgot the name of that room too),... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
