For the money I really liked ca pagan. If you want more of a classic hotel this isn't for you. It required three keys (very secure) to get to our room which was a separate door from lobby. The room itself though had a lot of character and cool blown glass sculptures and chandeliers. The funny part though was no... More

Ca Pagan is a beautiful hotel, located in San Samuel in a calm street but very convenient to get to the main attractions. Room was richly decorated and very clean. The check-in was quick and the staff very welcoming and helpful. Lea in particular was a highlight, especially when she welcomded s with her smile for breakfast. We'll be back... More

The location of this hotel was really good - although as we visited in July where temperatures exceeded 35 degrees, the walks to and from San Marco were slightly tiresome, however at any other time of the year this would not have been a problem. The hotel provided very detailed instructions to find the hotel and on arrival provided maps... More

I traveled with a very dear friend of mine and stayed at this quaint and charming hotel for a week. This hotel left a long term positive impression on us mainly because of the wonderful staff. Everyone was welcoming and accommodating, especially a wonderful lady by the name of Lia , who by the way, also made the best Cappuccino... More

We stayed at Ca' Pagan for our honeymoon in August 2015, and thought it was great. On our first nigh, the hotel provided complimentary Prosecco, which was a nice touch (compared to other, often more expensive hotels which make no special effort for honeymoons).

Dear Mr. Paritg, every single time that I read this type of reviews, I’ve always astonished from the cruelty written between the lines. Before I begin to answer to you, I would like to specify something that anyone should know: when we received your reservation, after few minutes we received an other email by you in which you wrote that... My family and I stayed at Ca' Pagan for 2 nights and had 2 rooms in this 6 room hotel. The hotel is in a great location (for people taking the water taxi, get off at S. Samuele on the 2 line) and is beautifully decorated with a wonderful and attentive staff. On top of it, the rates were very... More

We booked this place for a 3-night stay in July based in part by previous reviews and pictures of the quirky rooms. Overall, we weren't disappointed. The Location: it was quite easy to get to from the train station using the Vaporetto (water taxi). Just follow the instructions on the hotel website (or reservation email) and you'll be fine. You'll... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
