Great home form home, boutique hotel feeling with only 6 rooms, and great friendly staff, and within walking distance of just about everything. And easy to get to from the stations & car parks. Modi & Lea looked after us like their own and were ever at the ready to help us get the most out of Venice...

We stayed at Ca' Pagan in May 2015. This hotel is in a great location, it is very close to a water bus/ferry stop, but it is on a quiet street. It is close to all the main attractions, everything is within walking distance (if you don't mind a bit of walking), and it is reasonably priced. The hotel is... More

We came here on honeymoon in April 2015. Location We did a bit of research before coming and having been in Venice a number of times before, I knew the location was perfect. As there are only 2 bridges crossing the grand canal in central Venice, it was a perfect spot allowing us to explore every area of Venice with... More

Very close to the water taxi, about 10 minutes from the main square, but at the same time very quiet and charming. Decorated in Venetian style - a bit heavy for my wife - we got into the mood very quickly. The room was not large, but not small either, and the bathrooms were very nice. The people at the... More

I stayed here with my new wife on honeymoon for 5 nights in April '15. The staff were extremely friendly, the place was spotless and the rooms were nicely furnished. When I asked for a room upgrade they informed me that they didn't have any rooms free but did offer a bottle of Prosciutto - top class customer service. In... More

It is a great hotel. Rooms have a Veneza Style decor as you can see from hotel's website photos. Room size is good, bathroom also. It is located in a very calm place (a bit hidden) and offers a great sleep quality. Crew is very nice, from the reception guys to the waitress in the breakfast room. They are always... More

A perfect little hotel. Excellent service (really 1st class service, everyone friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble), charming hotel in a perfect location. Quirky decor which adds to the charm! Would highly recommend and would come again.

I booked Ca'Pagan as a treat for my mother and myself. We have visited Venice before but decided to stay in a different hotel. I chose this hotel after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed at all. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were greeted with lots of information about the local area and... More

The hotel is located near the San Samuele waterboat stop on a quiet lane. I like that it is quiet and not in the tourist area. The guy at reception, Modi, was very welcoming. I left my bag as I arrived early and my room was not ready yet. So went for a walk - the hotel is a few... More

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much! The staff was extremely helpful with directions, recommendations on food, and water taxi information. We stayed in a classic room, which is small but comfortable for us. We brought the wrong type of electrical adapters, but the front desk let us use several of theirs, very nice. Breakfast... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
