My husband and I have just completed our first time honeymoon stay and trip to Venice. This hotel is outstanding in all aspects - upon arrival staff were welcoming and informed us they had upgraded us to a junior suite with private balcony. The decor and hotel furnishings - as is the outdoor courtyard - is truly stunning and offers... More

This former convent is tucked away in the corner of Campo St Angelo over a small bridge - this might help you track this treasure down. No more than 10 minutes from the likes of the Rialto Bridge or St Mark's Square. Great service, particularly Julien the Maitre'd. Lovely courtyard which is a great relief from the heat? Only drawback... More

This is a quiet little hotel, with nice staff and no fuss. My double room was small, but then I got a bargain online and it had a bed and bathroom, so I had no complaints. It has free wifi, dodgy TV reception, a strict "no outside food" policy (though it's hard to know how they can police it), clean... More

This hotel is very "Venetian", extremely well decorated, which gives you an impression that you live amongst antiques and history, elegant and luxurious is how I would describe it. I booked a standard room, but would have liked to upgrade had the hotel not been fully booked. Everyone I encountered in this hotel is courteous and willing. It was a... More

We stayed at Palazzo Paruta for four days in connection with a 2015 Easter trip. The first impression of the hotel is really good: kind frontdesk staff, lovely little courtyard, brilliant central location and charming breakfast room. Our room was however not that great; no heating made us freeze at night, the water supply was on/off and the room generally... More

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights for our anniversary trip to Europe. I must say this hotel is impressive and has exceeded my expectations. It has a romantic, luxurious but comfortable setting. Both the staff at breakfast and afternoon tea were attentive and very welcoming. We were spoiled during our stay. We had a complementary bottle of Prosecco... More

My father and I stayed for three nights that we were in Venice. The staff at the front desk were very helpful when we checked in. The room was a little smaller than we expected but it was beautiful, with two windows that opened to let in a nice breeze and a gorgeous all marble bathroom. The beds were comfortable,... More

Chose this hotel because we wanted to experience a typical Venetian palazzo. It exceeded our expectations. Our room was beautifully decorated. The bed very comfortable and cleanliness obviously a priority. The only minor improvements I would recommend are more drawer space and maybe a larger TV. The entrance to this Palazzo is accessed via a bridge over a tiny canal.... More

Junior suite 153 with canal view. No really to mention this view. The room was a bit small for 4 persons because the kids slept on the sofa but clean and quite and very well furnitured. The bathroom was huge and anything there were needed. Warm towels as well. The breakfast buffet with full motivated staff was a big pleasure... More

(i have attached a photo). there is no any bar in the hotel and no any place where you can find a computer. at the end... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
