We stayed here 2 nights in the apartment room. Its huge and was initially exciting. No AC unless you can get a unit bought in, but some of them do not work either. No question this is good value for money in a city that is mainly about extracting your EUR in large quantities. No doubt its value and well... More

Ca Querini is very centrally located near San Marco and many bars, restaurants and a local supermarket. Convenient to get around the city and the Venice Bienalle, which is a 10 minute walk away. It's a 5 minute walk from the nearest vaporetto stop, San Zaccaria. Great value accommodation with large rooms, comfortable beds, high ceilings, marble paved floors and... More

Quiet part of Venice, still only 10 min from San Marco. Make good appointment about your arrival time, it is a B&B, not an hotel, so the reception isn't manned 24h. Nice view on the canal, don't forgot the shut the windows or you get eaten alive by the mosquitos. Don't expect anything from the breakfast, just around the corner... More

I'm not really sure why people are leaving such negative reviews about this place. Venice is a very expensive city and to find a B&B at such a low price in a great neighborhood with a canal view - of course it won't be the freaking Ritz. But it's hardly gross or in disrepair. Ca'Querini is more than serviceable. It's... More

Great location, a short walk from the Vaporetto stop, friendly people, incredible view of the canal right outside our window, pretty courtyard. WiFi didn't work for me, but it did for my wife (didn't really matter - we had a portable hotspot, and I had a data plan for my phone - both of which worked fine). Very accommodating about... More

Staying in Venice is expensive. But why come to Venice if you don't stay on the island? If you've got a HUGE budget and can splurge on one of those super pricey rooms, go right ahead. I prefer to use that money on some cicchetti, A LOT of espresso's and spritzes! If you're like me, you're going to LOVE Ca'... More

I came here with my wife on our honeymoon. We chose Ca'Querini because of the price and the location. Some people have claimed that the facilities are in disrepair or filthy. We found that this was totally not true. Our bathroom was clean and everything worked well. The rooms were clean and very large for the price and we had... More

While in a quiet neighborhood, this bed and breakfast was a great disappointment. It is in much need of repair, the bathroom was molded badly and had a shower that leaked water all over. We also had to buy bug repellent as Mosquitos bit us and our friends a lot during the night. Not a very pleasant sleeping condition.

Great location close to San Marco Square and all the activity! We made the mistake of wanting to walk there to take in the beautiful scenery - don't do that, it is further than imagined and of course with luggage and the bridges its no fun! Do take the water bus! We were greeted by a very friendly lady on... More

I searched an accommodation that is easy to access from the airport, is close to the center and at reasonable price. For me was the price for the studio 6 acceptable. We came by bus at the water bus stop and went at San Marco. In total 1hr. You need to walk about 10mins to reach the place (well desribed... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
