We stayed at Venice Resorts for one night after arriving on a cruise ship. We wanted something close to the cruise terminal that we could walk to with luggage but still be in a nice area of Venice. Venice Resorts met these requirements perfectly. It's not fancy, nor are the rooms very big, but it's clean and a good value... More

It’s very close from the Train / bus /vaporeto station and you could go to main sights by walk. Rooms are big and very comfortable and the apartment is in a quiet place. One bedroom is for 3 persons with a single bed and a king-size bed. The other bedroom contains a queen-size bed. The kitchen has the basics just... More

This was one of the best hotels I stayed in during my recent trip to Venice and Rome. One taxi driver from Marco Polo Airport took me to this property around 10 pm. I had an early morning flight otherwise I would have loved to stay there for long. The staff at the reception, (I met two gentlemen) were very... More

When we arrived in Venice itself I thought it was going to be a task to find the hotel to check in at as you can't actually check in at Venice resorts itself however it wasn't. We literally got off the bus and it was over a couple of bridges. We did have to wait about 10-15 minutes to check... More

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in Venice, The room was serviced every day, and the amenities were always stocked so well that we never had to worry about running out of anything, The hotel was in a great location very close to all major transport links although not too close, We were surprised to... We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the bus and train stations (early morning departures). The price was reasonable and it was very clean. We stayed in the deluxe double room, which was on the top floor - note: there are many stairs to climb and no elevator, so if you are not able to climb them, look... More

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night before flying back to Toronto after taking an Eastern Mediterranean cruise. This hotel is close to the airport and the hotel also offers airport shuttle bus service. This hotel is very homely and it is designed with ancient taste. It is spacious, clean, safe and also offers breakfast with the booking. The... More

Me and my family visit Venice and a friend booked us this hotel. The room was perfect for us as we were four including our two girls.....they had their own separate room from us. The price was very reasonable for the four of us. Close to restaurants as well. Happy with the room as they were clean. If you wish... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
