When we arrived in Venice itself I thought it was going to be a task to find the hotel to check in at as you can't actually check in at Venice resorts itself however it wasn't. We literally got off the bus and it was over a couple of bridges. We did have to wait about 10-15 minutes to check... More

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in Venice, The room was serviced every day, and the amenities were always stocked so well that we never had to worry about running out of anything, The hotel was in a great location very close to all major transport links although not too close, We were surprised to... We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the bus and train stations (early morning departures). The price was reasonable and it was very clean. We stayed in the deluxe double room, which was on the top floor - note: there are many stairs to climb and no elevator, so if you are not able to climb them, look... More

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night before flying back to Toronto after taking an Eastern Mediterranean cruise. This hotel is close to the airport and the hotel also offers airport shuttle bus service. This hotel is very homely and it is designed with ancient taste. It is spacious, clean, safe and also offers breakfast with the booking. The... More

Me and my family visit Venice and a friend booked us this hotel. The room was perfect for us as we were four including our two girls.....they had their own separate room from us. The price was very reasonable for the four of us. Close to restaurants as well. Happy with the room as they were clean. If you wish... More

It was a great moment at Venice... The room was really nice and clean. The personnel was very helpful, they gave us a map, and a lot of hints to visit venice! :) I would stay there again without any doubt! I loved it...

This hotel is in a very inconvenient location. From the train station, we have to drag our 3 luggages across bridges and uneven tiles of Venice. When we arrived at the hotel, it's another flight of stairs up to the reception. After which the rooms are 200m away from the reception, we have to drag our 3 luggages along the... More

Clean and comfortable room with lots of space for luggage and a fairly small bathroom. The location is a bit of a walk from all of the touristy sights, but that was nice because it wasn't as busy in that part of the city. Lots of restaurants nearby. Loved the little coffee shop across the street where breakfast is served.... More

We just returned from a fantastic stay in Venice and an excellent cruise out of that port. The Venice Resorts apartment were perfect for our family of four. We had two rooms sleeping four comfortably, fridge to keep drinks and a nice bathroom. It was perfectly situated near the Piazzale Roma bus station and people mover train to the cruise... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
