Breakfast was advertised as a "buffet" - this was not the case at all, it was a croissant and coffee at a cafe across the road. The room said it had "free wifi" - we didn't get Wifi for our whole stay (said incorrect password, we had to walk to reception to ask for an alternate one as they wouldn't... More

I booked this hotel through the website hotels.com with free cancellation up to 1 day before arrival date. I received an email stating "Payment conditions: the full payment will be processed during the check-in. For not-refundable reservations, the payment is processed at reservation made. We would like to inform that we will process a pre-authorization for the full amount of... More

It can be a struggle to find somewhere affordable in Venice, but this place was perfect! Travelling as a group of four we rented a small unit with one double room and two single beds. The place was clean, with a little fridge and good bathroom. Of course, like everything in Venice it's very small. Wifi is great! Check in... More

This hotel was more like an Airbnb style booking than a hotel, in the sense that the check in is a different location to the hotel itself (which looks and feels more like an apartment). The rooms on offer are large and have all of the basic things you need - really when in a place as beautiful as Venice... More

The check in process was horrid. No one was at the other location to check us in, so I had to call to get someone to help only to get an attitude and hung up on twice. I was so upset I called the company I booked the place with and she also hung up on them. Horrible customer service.... More

The rooms were clean and well appointed but its primary selling point was its excellent location - away from most of the tourist crowds but very close to both the train and bus stations. Also included was a light breakfast (croissant, hot drink, cold drink, dry toast + jam) across the street every morning of our stay. It was nice... More

Stayed here for two nights as a couple. Room was nice (nice bed, nice bathroom, cool decor, interesting wood beams that show how long the building has been around). The hotel is also pretty close to the central bus station and train station that you use to get to and from Venice, and about a thirty minute walk to the... More

We stayed for 4 nights here towards the end of September and found it perfect for what we needed. The room we had was very big and spacious with air conditioning, a safe, a fridge and two TV's. The hotel offer a great little breakfast service with the nearby cafe and the experience was something we throughly enjoyed as it... More

We stayed at Venice Resorts for 4 nights and very much enjoyed our stay! The room was very cozy, clean and quite big too. It had a fridge and 2 windows, and the building is placed in a very nice part of town. Lots of restaurants nearby. Not too touristy but still close to everything! We walked everywhere and enjoyed... Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
