We stayed here for the final 3 nights of our honeymoon and I could not rate this B and B highly enough! It was an amazing location, in fact we walked by it 3 times accidentally one afternoon whilst exploring!! The room was beautifully decorated, air con was best we had in Italy, gorgeous roof top terrace. The staff were... More

My wife and I stayed here for four nights on a trip to Venice as a 10th wedding anniversary treat. The location is excellent - central but in a surprisingly quiet spot off a square. We had no problem finding it (using the instructions that came with the confirmation email) and arrived by water taxi from Marco Polo into L'Accademia... More

We have just returned from a 3 night break in Venice, staying at Settimo Cielo. This B & B offers a fantastic relaxed stay, and was perfect in every way. We did have the one room that had the shower room located externally to the bedroom, but in practice this was no problem at all. The roof terrace with complimentary... More

I have just spent a wonderful weekend in Venice staying at the Settimo Cielo hotel and would like to say a big thank you to its management. It is a very small and very lovely hotel, conveniently located just between San Marco and Rialto, very stylish, very well maintained, with taste and a lot of attention to every small detail.... We just spent four nights at Settimo Cielo and had a wonderful experience here. We had no problem finding it (using the instructions that came with the reservation confirmation email) and came in via train, and then vaporetto to Sant Angelo stop. We were greeted by Anthony when we checked in, who could not have been nicer or more helpful.... More

Absolutely recommend to stay while in Venice. The hotel is in a quiet place and yet within a 2 min walk from the city center. Great design, friendly stuff and marvelous breakfasts in a very intimate atmosphere. Great price/quality relation.

Not sure if we stayed at Settimo Cielo or Bloom it is one and the same building I believe owned by two different people. Whatever, it is a great place to stay you feel as though you are entering your own private house with a the key to your own doorway from the street. I agree with previous reviewers that... More

As many travellers have already reported, it is quite difficult to find the reecption which is located in the hotel next door, itself not clearly signed. Despite this, you really have the feeling to be almost in your own house in the heart of Venice. Rooms are comfortable and everything is quiet (not many rooms). Roof terrace is also lovely,... More

We stayed for a long weekend here in June. The room was fantasic - big and charmingly furnished with a nice shower room. The position within the city is very central and it's very convenient for the water bus stop and the sights. Though bear in mind that getting lost in Venice is part of it's magic ;-) We used... Stayed here for just one night on my honeymoon after two nights at the sister hotel, Locanda Fiorita. Settimo Cielo and Bloom (all three places are owned/run by the same people) are in a townhouse-type building, so the reception is round the corner at Locanda Fiorita. We stayed in the White Room, which was 270 euros for the night (although... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
