We only stayed 1 night at this hotel but it was clean, good value for money with good breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It is close to Rialto Bridge/stop for the water taxis but it can be challenge to look for the hotel as the maze of roads in Venice can be quite tricky. I used google map... More

The hotel was very hard to find if you don't know where to go. I emailed the hotel for directions but got no response. Great location although the annex is a short walk from the main hotel. Very noisy staying on the canal. The wifi connection was spotty and the breakfast was very space. Make sure to have cash as... More

We stayed in San Luca for a night in October. We had a quadruple room. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was good and great location! Overall a very pleasant stay.

We were booked in the san Luca annex and no breakfast included in our package because we stayed in the apartments which was was not in the hotel but was managed by the hotel wit about 10 min walk. The reception staff specially Dabi was quite helpful but the manager had a little bit of an arrogant attitude. They have... More

Arrived by water taxi and found the hotel quite easily. We were booked in a sister property, Casa Dolce. A hotel worker walked us for about ten minutes in the heat of the day over bridges and through crowds of people to where we were to stay. We pulled our own luggage which was not easy on the Venice streets.... More

Had reservations at the San Luca in October 2013. It was very difficult to find (no fault of theirs, it's just how Venice is); we walked by it three times before seeing the very small sign on a very narrow street. We checked in and were told that our room was in the "annex". Grabbing our luggage, we followed the... More

We stayed in San Luca hotel in december 2012 for 2 nights the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Good location. The room was ok but the bed was small and uncomfortable. We could hear noises coming from the street and from the reception (where was the breakfast tables). There weren't enough breakfast tables so we had to wait in... More

For a weekend away with the girls, family and friends of all ages, this hotel was just what we needed! Very central, close proximity to both the Rialto Bridge and St. Marcs square - only a few minutes walk each way. The hotel its self was charming, we stayed in the self contained building. The four or us were all... More

Located just steps from the Piazza Bra and the Arena. Room was tiny but clean. Staff polite. Hotel is "stuffed" into a small side street so rather dark and lacking views. Breakfast buffet was extensive.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
