We stayed during the Biennale as a group of 4 at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is very central - great to get to all the must places in Venice. I chose a room without carpet, what is good if you have dust problems. The dust-free room is on the first floor. In the morning you are awoken... More

We stayed here for our honeymoon in 2010 and it was a fantastic hotel. We loved the decor which was in true venetian style, it was very opulent and our room was gorgeous. The concierge looked after us with restaurant recommendations. We liked the location as there were nice restaurants close by, it was easy to access other areas of... More

Just returned from four nights in their Junior suite. A lovely comfortable room with gondoliers serenading us out or our slumbers every morning. A very well placed location, with a very friendly and helpful team. Alessandro and his team were a delight to come back to every day. Don't be put off by the lack of a lift, the stairs... More

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the AD Place hotel. The hotel is located very close to St. Mark's square, and like much of Venice, very close to a number of places to eat. The hotel itself is well maintained and very clean. Our room was very colorful (our was purple) and incredibly spacious. We found the mattress... More

What a brilliant experience! I can't vouch for staying in the main hotel, however we stayed in the Ad Lofts which are located in the quieter part of San Marco. You feel like a local, having your own apartment in a quiet building over looking canals! Bliss! The apartment itself is beyond spacious, clean and has all the amenities you'd... More

It's a good experience to live in an apartment which is located nearby the hotel. There are 2 huge bedrooms, a kitchen and a huge living room. The hotel staff is so nice helping to bring our luggages to the apartment which is on the 3rd floor. It would be great if they can remove all the mosquito!

Great staff, very easy to get to ( not common in Venice) , very good morning breakfast nice set up. My room is very small but for a solo person it's not a problem at all. Also it seems to be in one of the more quiet spots in venice ,but again very close to everything. No lifts so you... More

We did a LOT of research into our hotel stay in Venice as it was our honeymoon and we wanted it to be really special. I'm happy to say that AD Place proved to be a great choice and we were so happy with our 5 night stay. The location is very close to the main sights of Venice, only... More

My boyfriend booked this hotel because the website and colour theme is my favourite colour. We had no idea what to expect. There's lots of stairs but that's no different than everywhere in Venice due to building types - they were certainly a challenge after lots of sightseeing though. Place was very clean, staff were friendly and breakfast was beautiful.... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
