We loved this place. Excellent service, extraordinarily clean, nicely appointed room, and delicious breakfast. We have been ruined for the rest of our trip through Italy! We have been to Venice three times, wish we would have found this gem sooner. Our flight was early in the morning, and they provided breakfast very early for us. Lovely.

Good breakfast, with view for one of the Venice canals. Far from the noise and from the crowds. But you can reach the boats "buses" with only a few walk minutes (less than five). The lady owner is very friendly and always available to give suggestions that can help you or add value to your trip. She appears to be... More

Me and my partner stayed here for 3nights and could not have asked for a better service or B&B. The breakfast was plentiful and fantastic choice. The bed was above average and very comfortable. The service from the owner Aleksandra and her lovely maid was second to none. Very nice people indeed and extremely helpful with a whole array of... More

Booked this hotel on TA recommendations and its in a quiet location off the beaten track so you get a great nights sleep. Getting to the hotel we didn't need to take any vaporettos as the hotel is just 12 - 15 min walk from Piazzale Roma and we had small luggage so that helped because the bridges are a... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Alla Vite Dorata for three nights. The location is great - down a quiet alley out of the touristy hustle and bustle. The hotel is very small (I think 5 rooms) which makes it very quaint and cosy. The rooms were of a reasonable size and clean and modern enough. The breakfast, which is... More

This is a wonderful six room bed and breakfast hotel. Our room was well decorated and very clean. Bathroom was a good size with plenty of room in the shower. The owner was extremely helpful and spoke English. Breakfast served was fresh and delicious. WiFi was included. Location was close to restaurants and shopping. It did take a little while... More

We stayed 3 nights in this lovely hotel. Our room was off the breakfast room, however this was not a problem at all, double door ensured it was not noisy. The hotel is small anyway so not that many people walking past. Being off the breakfast room meant we beat other guests to get the one table on the balcony... More

We had a great stay at this hotel. We travelled as a family of 4- 2 adults and two kids under the age of 12. The hotel accommodated us by placing bunk beds in our room for our children. Even with the extra beds we had enough space to move around. Our room was clean and airy with a view... More

My husband and I stayed here last November for three nights and really enjoyed it. The room and bathroom were immaculate, the heat worked well, and the room felt large compared to what we've experienced in other Italian cities. The bed was a bit hard for my tastes, but my husband loved it. We got a room with the canal... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
