Me and my husband stayed at Cabarba for 4 nights. The B&B is located very close to Rialto Market vaporetto stop as well as to Rialto Bridge and the Rialto Market. It is located on a quiet street. It is kept very clean by its owners and we loved the fresh smell the b&b had every time we arrived at.... More

We loved this room in Venice! The b & b is tucked into a quiet side 'street' and easy to get to from the vaparaetti stop. The kitchen and eating area downstairs is so cozy and welcoming. Each morning Alessandro is there to plate fresh croissants, buns and special Italian pastries. His cappuccino and Americano coffees are absolutely scrumptious and... More

Best place to stay. Alessandro met us at the Vaparetto station and made the entire stay fabulous. He gave great advice on where to go and what to do and the room was fantastic. Quiet location, but close to the "bus" stop. Comfortable beds, on the firm side, and great bathroom. Stairs are steep, but were not a problem for... More

We really love this B&B. From the location to all the little touches you can find throughout the place. You can truly feel that the owner thought of everything. Stayed here for 2 nights in July 2015. The 1st thing I noticed as I step into the B&B was the smell. There are fragrance everywhere... from the kitchen to the... More

We had a lovely holiday in Venice, a BIG thank you to Alessandro for his advice and assistance. The B & B is in a good location, easy access to many places of interest but not amid the hurly burly. We took Alessandro's advice on where to go, how to get there and when. He is right -loose the map... More

We spent two nights in the Ca' Barba B&B. Alessandro and the room were FANTASTIC (we stayed in the jacuzzi room)! He met us at the waterbus station making our initial trip to the B&B very easy. The rooms were in immaculate condition, and he provided us with a map and books to give us a little more information on... More

Alessandro makes this one of the best places to stay. It is a couple of blocks away from the Grand Canal and near the market and Rialto area. The rooms are great and have everything you need. The breakfast's are wonderful and he gives you unique information on things to see and do in Venice. Great stay

We weren't sure about distances around Venice, so we wanted to be centrally located. Ca' Barba is certainly that, with the bonus of being tucked into a quiet alley. Distances turned out not to be a problem, especially with the use of vaporettos, but we're still very glad we stayed here. Our visit was much improved by Alessandro's suggestions for... More

Alessandro is the most helpful b&b owner that I've encountered. He met us at the canal when we first arrived in the water taxi, and continued to be supportive throughout the trip. He gave us a thorough orientation and loaned us two books about Venice. I got very ill and ended up in the hospital, so he let us keep... More

This wonderful B&B is located close to the Rialto bridge, fish and vegetable markets, easy access to water taxis, while at the same time on a quiet side alley. Alessandro, the owner, is very knowledgable about all things Venice! On his suggestion, we got the tourist transit card which gave us access to the water taxis to travel around Venice... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
