Our stay at Ca' Barba was terrific. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and breakfast was very good. As all have mentioned Alessandro was awesome to deal with and he really made our stay in Venice. Venice is very busy even in the off season. Alessandro gave us recommendations that made our stay enjoyable. I am not sure we... More

Thanks to you Matt, Amber. Thanks for your review, for your kindness: you are very nice guests. Thanks also because i think that your review may be exhaustive: 1) the Acqua alta = high tide, is not dangerous… 2) the high tides causes very limited inconvenience: the only thing to do is to be patient and wait for few hours... Alessandro and his B&B will make your stay in Venice a delight. Alessandro is one of those rare hosts who truly cares about his guests. Alessandro met us at the vaporetto station and helped carry our bags to the apartment. He is in love with Venice and his recommendations on where to go and what to see will enrich your... More

Out of 2 weeks of traveling and 5 accommodations, Ca'Barba was by far the best place I stayed. The owner Alessandro is amazing- he met me at the vaporetto when I first got to Venice and walked me to the B&B, he also gave me numerous tips and materials on what to see and when to see things in Venice.... The location of the B&B was surprisingly closer to everything than we expected. The morning market was very convenient and close. Rialto bridge was around the corner. Great communication with host. We visited August 2013.

What a wonderful stay we had in Ca’Barba! This nice and centric B&B hotel is located very close to Rialto bridge. It was so pleasant to leave the hotel every morning and being on a two minutes walking distance from Rialto market and bridge, where we could get to know the daily venetian lifestyle and enjoy the most breathtaking views... The owner Alessandro met and gave us a warm welcome off the water bus to take us to the Ca'Barba. He is a great host and was more than happy to give us advise on where, when and what to see avoiding the tourist traps! The room was very comfortable and the breakfast splendid, we were able to come and... More

We stayed in Ca' Barba B&B in August 2014, and found the location and accommodation very good value for money. Alessandro is a really good guy who communicates well from the moment you enquire or confirm your booking through to meeting you at the vaporetto stop upon arrival. The accommodation is situated 2 minutes walk from the Rialto Mercato vaporetto... More

I stayed at Ca' Barba as a solo traveler in mid-September 2014. I was blown away by this place. The owner, Alessandro, answered all of my questions promptly before my trip (I had a lot of questions) and met me at the vaporetto stop when I arrived so I wouldn't get lost. I stayed in both of the non-jacuzzi tub... More

Somewhat obscure location in a building with at least one other hotel.Good proximity to the central station(walking distance) and most other attractions are relatively close by. The room was excellent with good air con and a smart modern bathroom. The desk attendants were most helpful and the breakfast was well presented and more than adequate. We would stay here again... We stayed at the Ca' Barba B&B for a long weekend stay in Venice at the end of September and can thoroughly recommend both the B&B and the hosts for a most enjoyable stay. The B&B is in an ideal location only a stones throw away from the Rialto Bridge and is an excellent base to explore Venice. Alessandro and... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
