As everything in Venice B&B Leonardo is very difficult to find, after all is the city a labyrinth, but if you have told Leonardo who is a really nice and helpful guy, the time you'll arrive and if you don't show up he will call you if you don't do that your self, and he will go to pick you... B&B Leonardo was a fantastic place to stay in Venice. It is located near a vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal, and Leonardo's directions made finding this B&B very easy. The location is on a side street which makes it fairly quiet. Operable windows and shutters were appreciated. Leonardo has done a nice job with the rooms and all are... More

B&B Leonardo was a wonderful little B&B with a great location overlooking a museum garden. Close to the fun neighborhood square, but removed enough to provide a quite setting. The room was both inviting and clean. Leonardo was great and easy to work with both before and during our stay. A perfect base to explore Venice!

While booking this place, we mailed back and forth with the owner Leonardo and he was always prompt and helpful. We were given a room on the 2nd floor and this had an attached bath. The room and bathroom were spotless and well-appointed. The breakfast consisted mainly of pre-packed breads and croissants and could have been better but then again,... More

Thank you Leonardo for a brill B&B. He even met us at the bus st as he was in the area at the time and was a nice welcome to Venice esp as it was at night and we'd never been before. He also provided us with a map and recommendations of places to visit from a locals perspective. Good... More

My wife and I stayed here in September, 2013. I thought I did my homework and read the reviews, but we weren't very impressed with our stay at Leonardo B&B. The location was great, away from the crowds but not very far away from attractions, either. It was the feel of the B&B that wasn't what we were expecting. It... More

The room we booked at the B&B Leonardo was overbooked and we agreed as per Leonardo's relocation suggestion to an apartment just next to the original B&B. So my review is based on Leonardo's hospitality and the relocated apartment accommodation. Leonardo is very nice and helpful, besides of giving us a lot of travel tips and dinning suggestions with a... More

Great location but hard to find, situated down a small side street! We were in the attic room and had a lot of steep stairs to climb which would be a problem for someone with mobility issues. Self service breakfast was convenient and consisted of toast, yoghurts, cereal, cakes and the usual hot drinks. Leonardo was very hospitable & helpful.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
