Indeed, its location is one of the best in Venice if not the best. Room, bathroom, terrace were all kept clean, tidy, and comfortable day and night. The bed/mattress is uber comfortable and firm with good pilows to match. Water supply in shower/bath and toilet flush is quite strong. Daily breakfast was sufficient, though hot fried eggs or scrambled, or... More

When I left and said a polite thank-you, andreas asked me to write a review, so I will. He worked at reception and couldn’t have been more helpful and charming. There was a safe, mini fridge, bath etc, and TV. My single room at 300 euros a night was very small, no question of swinging a cat. There were no... More

This was our second visit to Venice, and it was made even more amazing than the first, especially due to the hotels staff tips of non-typical tourist activities. Andrea from the front desk was simply the best. He gave us tips on great restaurants and other attractions that were spot-on! Staff made us feel home. Rooms were appropriately clean, little... More

We stayed here for 3 night as a family of 4 in a quad room. The room was soooo small we struggled to fit our bags in let alone open one. The bathroom was a 1 person affair. On the good side the location was amazing and convenient. The staff were friendly And helpful. The rooms were clean but not... More

Lovely decor in the bedrooms, superb location, helpful staff - no wonder we have returned and hope we will again. One criticism - breakfast coffee is not good - the nice staff need to be given barista training to keep up Italy's reputation for great coffee.

The friendliest staff... willing to assist and give you info on the ppaces to get lost in Venice!! The ladies in the breakfast room always remembered my coffee and would bring it without my having to ask for it!! Thoughtful and aware!! The room was just right for me and very convenient. Stayed for three nights in Firence Hotel, the perfect location to explore Venice and taste the best food in town. The hotel is very very central and 1 minute from vaporeto and Alilaguna stop, 2 minute from S.Marco Square, surrounded by many luxury stores ect. The room size was typical of italian hotels, the decoration in Venetian style was lovely,... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
