Once we had found the hotel - ok if you follow their instructions carefully and look for the slab on the floor - we were enchanted by this hidden gem right in he centre of everything. We had been upgraded to the top floor room with a lovely balcony looking over the rooftops with a glimpse of the Grand Canal... More

Traveling around Europe with my girlfriend, celebrating our anniversary we decided to stop in Venice. This Albergo has a great location and wonderful staff! Breakfast was also very good and the lady that was serving it was amazingly helpful and efficient. However we found some problems with our bed: too short and was easily movable - I know how it... It is difficult to find-go to Piazza San Marco, stand with your back to the Basilica, look to the far left exit of the Square, walk through the exit (see an AmEx sign on the ground), go approx. 50 feet and look for Hotel Firenze on the ground on your right in front of the passageway to the Hotel.

We were delighted with our stay here - the staff were consistently helpful with all our requests and the fresh fruit and chocolates in the room each day was a great touch. Roof terrace is very pretty and the location is excellent.

Luckily I looked up on the net how to get to the hotel, or we would have walked straight past it. The location is the best. A two minute walk from the vaparetto, a minute to San Marco Square, real close to shops, bars and restaurants. You are in the middle of the centre, so you would expect noise. But... More

A nice hotel in a wonderful location just 50 m from Piazza San Marco and the waterbus/ watertaxi stops. Probably one of the hotels with the best service ever received in Italy. Do yourself a favour if you are a first time visitor in Venice and ask at the reception for some tips on where to go and where to... More

Although its not the easiest to find (walked striaght passed it), or doesnt offer the biggest rooms, i have to say that it really is a great hotel Located right next to the square and amongst the shops, you really get to enjoy the atmosphere We were fortunateenough to have a balcony suite which i have to say added a... If you're looking to get away from large, noisy hotels and are looking for a more intimate charming boutique with excitement right outside, Hotel Firenze is where you need to be. You will find yourself in the main exclusive shopping street of San Marco, 30 metres fro Piazza San Marco and steps away from Harry's infamous Bar! All rooms are... More

This place is really close to the busy tourist Plaza. We had leisurely breakfasts and still were at the 'sights' before anything was open. As it got busy, we were walking away, getting lost in the rest of this amazing city. This place is very romantic, think Paris, and don't expect huge rooms, and slide those cases under the bed.... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
