It's pretty small itself and the entrance was a bit hidden. The sigh was actually on the floor and there is a narrow passage in. The front desk was easy enough. The rooms are sub par in size and the beds are a bit smaller than I'd like. The bathrooms are fine and the wifi is exceptional. The terrace is... More

This hotel is great. Most importantly, the wifi is amazing, best I have used in Europe. The staff is really nice and the terrance on the top floor has a stunning view. The only negative is the size of the rooms, which are very small. Everything else is great and Venice is a really pretty place.

The start of our trip in Venice began at this great little hotel. It was a little difficult to find but once we found it, we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed our Benice stay immensely. It is 3 minutes walk from San Marco Square and handy to everything. The rooms were small but you manage. Breakfasts were lovely and allowed... More

The room was very small for 3 people. We booked it as a 3 person room. We were going to spend 3 nights there. After our second day, we were told that they were going to move us because one of their regular customers wanted the room we were staying in. We were upset since we had to pack everything... More

After reading some reviews I was a bit worried. Great hotel all staff on front desk are outstanding with helpful tips and customer service, only exception old gentleman on front desk if you see him behind the counter go the other way RUDE may not mean to be but definitely comes across that way. He may have a lot of knowledge... More

We are a family of four and stayed in a quad room. It is a lovely hotel, and I think would be fantastic for single, couples or a trio. Unfortunately however the quad room would appear to be a very small triple room with a fourth bed (a fold away cot) put into it. This made the room so small... More

The hotel was only 100 meters from San Marco Square. The room was very nicely decorated with nice light fittings. Andrea on reception was great advising places to visit to get you out of the main tourist areas and really experience Venice and one restaurant "Madona" which was not too hard to find but was worth it. Only problem is... More

We very enjoyed stay her with our friends. Especially evening view from roof terrace to explore sun set in Venice. Staff was lovely and very friendly. The location is absolutely fantastic just few meters from St Marks square. I would recommend evening walks in Venice.

We really enjoyed our stay here in Venice. Perfect location right near San Marco square. Very friendly and helpful on any request. Breakfast was lovely. Room was a bit small for a family of 4 but we know that is normal for Venice. It was also well insulated from the noise at night which was great!

Whilst we were tempted by the prospect of being so centrally located and near to St Mark's Square we were also a little concerned that it might be a bit on the noisy side. But no - not at all. The location is superb - Vaporetto and St Mark's literally 2 mins away, the hotel is very plush and the... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
