Andrea and Susanna are both wonderful hosts. They patiently answered all our queries even before we confirmed our hotel bookings. During our stay, they also highlighted local non-touristy joints and helped us with bookings. The B&B is nicely decorated with spacious rooms and in an excellent location, close to the Vaporetto. When they knew we had to check out early in... More

Andrea is a great hostess, he takes all the time required to help you. Don't forget to ask him to help you to make dinner plans, you won't be disappointed. Campiello Zen stands up very well for service, location and a warm welcome in Venice.

Another great stay with Andrea and Suzanne. A long weekend - Saturday through Monday for the first carnival weekend. Andrea as friendly and enthusiastic as ever. Great location (less than 10 minutes from Piazzale Roma and Station) and 15 minutes to Rialto. Piano Nobile of an old house with three gorgeous rooms and a large living/breakfast area. A warm welcome... More

Susanna is a great hostess, takes all of her time with you to help make you comfortable in the city ,helps make dinner plans etc., . Considering high prices in Venice, this would be my choice again and again, because you are in a historic old building, but with modern comfort. Rooms are elegant, modern bathrooms, breakfast good. She was... More

This is more than just a B&B, it's a beautiful centuries old house with up to date luxuries and an extremely friendly, knowledgable and helpful host who is happy to advise on what to do and where to go for sights, eating and drinking. Recommended by friends who have been here many times, it is from now on our 'go... More

This was our third visit to Venice and it was great to be away from the busy tourist area. It was a family get together celebrating birthdays. Our host Andrea was professional and warm. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms in the suites were more what we are used to. The shower in Ginko is quiet small. Andrea... More

Andrea and Susanna were the most gracious hosts and their B&B was spectacular. With exceptional taste and style in our rooms, our breakfast's and their location made our vacation just perfect. Making us feel as though our little group owned the home, we felt like true Venetians. Andrea greeted with us smiles and wonderful snack of Prosecco, crackers and cheese.... More

We spent 2 nights here prior to a Rick Steves Tour (we had to move to a hotel for that). Our stay at Campiello Zen was fantastic. The location was perfect - VERY close to the Boat stop/Vaporetto - so it was easy to get to with our luggage. We loved that it was not in a touristy area, but... More

We stayed here for three nights, one in the suite and two nights in the Ginko room. Both were wonderful rooms but we both preferred the Ginko as it seemed quieter. We walked from the station and navigated this easily with two suitcases. We were welcomed by Susanna who then spent time with us talking through options of how to... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
