Bloom was great. It was right on a Piazza, but not the ridiculously busy ones. The rooftop deck was amazing and just a short walk to the water bus. The staff was extremely helpful in finding restaurants, things to do and just about anything else you need. Don't sleep with you windows open during mosquito season though, but that applies... More

Overall a good place to stay in Venice if you like to be independent. Bloom feels more like an apartment than a hotel, there are no visible staff except at breakfast, although reception is available on the phone 24hrs a day. Room was comfortable and clean, breakfast adequate and the roof terrace (with nicely chilled Prosecco in the fridge) a... More

This hotel is everything you think Venice is going to be like...deep red fabric walls, rich upholstery everywhere. Fantastic location..did have a bit of trouble finding it, even though i followed their directions. Even the wait staff in the restaurant just beside it couldn't tell me how to get there. Do know that the stairs are a bit of a... More

We have stayed in quite a few places in Venice, and this B&B is fantastic. The square is beautiful, and the added bonus of the roof terrace is just fantastic. If you've never been to the city before, you might feel it's important to have a view of a canal from your window, but it really isn't! The rooms are... More

I stayed here at Hotel Bloom at the end of August 2011 with my partner. I booked the trip as a romantic getaway and we were not disappointed. I will say that finding the hotel was a little difficult once we were off the vaporetto, but after asking in a cafe we were directed straight there. The difficult is not... More

Bloom B&B is a keeper! We visited Venice before but this place offers better services, rooms, design, and comfort. The price is also much cheaper than most places, esp. when compare with what you get. Breakfast was wonderful - a lot of variety, good quality, arranged in a super cute way. Generally, everything is well thought. The rooftop patio was... More

Absolutely loved our experience at this hotel. Rooftop patio was fabulous as mentioned. Room was clean and comfortable, bathroom was spacious by European standards, and we appreciated the unique character of the hotel. There are stairs -- but you are in Venice where you are doing a lot of walking and have to get creative with luggage transport anyway! We... More

Pay attention to the instructions on how to find this hotel - it takes a bit of finding but it's worth the effort. It's such a little gem of a place. Once you get your bearings, you'll find it's in a very handy location. There are a number of stairs (no lift) so be prepared. The rooms are beautifully decorated,... More

This was a perfect choice for a honeymoon from any point - service, romantic and private atmosphere, decor and style, terrace and breakfast - everything was just fantastic! We loved it and will keep this in our memories of a perfect honeymoon in Venice. Look forward to coming back, and will definitely stay here again.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
