We think our room was a time share, we had 2 bedrooms, a sitting room and 2 bathrooms. Some areas were locked. It was on the top floor but we had air conditioning units in both bedrooms that worked well. There was also a nice breeze when you opened the windows. There was an "old" smell in the room. We... Selfishly, I'm not sure if I should share how wonderful our stay was as it could make our next visit difficult to book! Anyways, we finished out our two week vacation with 4 days in Venice. We were a bit weary from all our travels and found Ca'Bragadin Carabba to be the perfect conclusion to our trip. The room was... More

Pay attention to the YouTube video with instructions to find this place. Watch it a couple times. It's hard to find the first time, but after that, you've got a great hotel in a great location. It's quiet and breakfast served in the room was perfect for us. We had a room overlooking a small plaza, really charming. The rooms... More

Ca'Bragadin hotel was a great location in Venice, it was within walking distance to all of the major attractions along with the water taxis. The room was clean and fairly spacious and it came with air conditioning and wi-fi. Breakfast was not included in the base price but you could pay for breakfast there or go to one of the... More

I reserved the room online through expedia because reviews were very good, but I did not expect much. I was pleasantly surprised with very beautiful room with gorgeous view on the main street Santa Marina. The stuff was very helpful and the overall experience was excellent.

As the title and sign in the lobby says. This is a charming inn. Our room 205 was right off the reception area. A very nice size room with a view of the little square outside. The reception was fantastic and communication could not have been easier. They confirmed our reservation two days in advance and answered e mails quickly.... More

The actual hotel was very nice, including breakfast, a mini fridge and air conditioning (thankfully), but the streets of Venice are hard to navigate so we lost for awhile and finally someone had to come out to find us. The entrance isn't very well marked and I always recognized it by an oil spill on ground outside the door.

Beautiful hotel and elegant room with a spacious, modern bathroom. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent location close to main attractions, but far enough away for quiet from the crowds. Soft, comfortable beds, really cool A/C and great internet. Super clean! Will stay here again when I return to the most beautiful city.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
