We arrived on the 21st of August to celebrate our 10 yr anniversary. When we arrived we where giving a complimentary upgrade. Our room was modern and very spacious. Our bathroom was big and had a jacuzzi bath. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to St.Marks square which is the main tourist attraction in Venice. It is also 15... More

We arrived early on Tuesday morning so we dropped our cases off and went to explore. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to St Mark's Square and about 10-15 minutes walk to the Rialto (depending if you know where you are going!!) When we popped back later in the day our bag had been taken to our room and... More

We really enjoyed this hotel! Its not even a 10 mins walking to St. Marks square and the rooms and bathrooms were defiantly an amazing 4 star feel. We loved it and would stay here again when we come back to Venice! Highly recommend this hotel!!!

Dear Guest, Good evening from Venice! Thank you so much for recommending our hotel to TripAdvisor's readers! We are glad you enjoyed the location of our hotel and its rooms. Some of them (our exclusive rooms and junior suites both with canal view) have also original frescos and Murano glass chandeliers! Come and enjoy! Greetings from Venice, Deborah More

We stayed at this hotel just one night. It was about 40 C on the street with big humidity and it was really nice inside of the room with very comfortable temperature. Clean beds, clean washroom with shower. Excellent personal. Only one minus: We did not find how to turn on the fan in the washroom.

Staff very professional. Lovely location on the banks of the grand canal. Very old style hotel hotel with a lot of class and marble. Our room on the third floor was requested with a balcony but me actually got a terrace. This is normally only available on the ground floor. Breakfast was international. Being English we like our sausage and... More

Perfectly placed hotel. Short walk from all attractions & water buses. Spotlessly clean. Lovely staff. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Air conditioning was a must, especially as Venice is very hot & humid during June, July & August.

This hotel was in a perfect location with access to every thing. Room was lovely - staff helpful. They made us feel very welcome. Good breakfast with plenty to choose from. There is a nice place to eat almost next door and the best ice cream ever! A few doors along from the hotel.

This is a charming hotel. Staff very friendly and more than happy to organise things for you. Room was spotless, spacious and thankfully had airco. Breakfast was a basic continental and could be improved upon. Location was perfect. 5 minutes from San Marco Square, close to all the must see's of Venice.

Although we had this place recommended by a friend who lives close to Venice, I'm sure he never actually went in. The main, day desk sergeant almost never looked up unless we worked at getting his attention. He have extremely poor directions (took us three calls to get even near the hotel, then had to find a local guy to... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
