Stayed in June last year. It was impossible to find as they did not give a street name on the website I booked. The rule of shutting at 11pm makes it a mad dash when everyone pours in, trundles up the stairs and the doors bang for about the next hour whilst everyone settles down. Very basic facilities and no... More

Close to train station, Clean. Remember that this is not a 5 star hotel, it's a dormitory. We set reasonable expectations and were not disappointed. Had to walk back to the hotel at 11pm before they close the gate though.

I was traveling with two of my girls friends and we stayed in Venice for 4 nights. The location was great because it was close to the train station and a 5-20 minute walk to any of the main attractions. There were a lot of young people staying there, which was nice. The staff was not super friendly compared to... More

I stayed there for 3 nights in a single room with shared bathroom payed 105€ ! Comparing to hostels with almost same price i liked the place because i prefer to be sline at room than veing with other people and it is more comfy and with more privacy! The location is super perfect with good accessibility to train station... More

We knew the hostel was cheap, but we didn't expect the hostel to be this disappointing. The staff wasn't very friendly or helpful, it even seemed they knew nothing about Venice when we asked directions to restaurants or supermarkets. The kitchen only has a toaster and a water boiler, the bathrooms smelled like rotten water and our 3-bed room only... More

Stayed here for two nights; our walls around our beds were covered with blood stains from squashed mosquitoes which wasnt that appealing :( the beds were comfy, we had a table, large wardrobe and a sink which was very useful! There were communal bathrooms on the 4th floor where we were staying; and to say they average is an overstatement.... More

This is a basic hostel with shared bathrooms. As it appears to also be a student hostel it is fortunate that there are a reasonable number of bathrooms. Free wifi. Close to the bus and train stations. Nice old lift. Friendly and helpful staff. It was good value for money when comparing other accommodation. It was nice to see that... More

A dormitory-turned hostel with great location and helpful staff. No AC (but you can borrow a fan from them), no wifi, shared bathrooms. The level of cleanness and comfort is just the same as any other budget hostel. In short, you get what you pay for.

Best location in Venice for the price. Definitely more of a dorm/hostel type of hotel, but it's decent enough. Beds weren't the most comfortable, but we were only there for one night and it wasn't a bother. Internet is weak everywhere so don't expect to stay too connected. But again, if your objective is to see Venice conveniently and cheaply,... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
