I spent here just one night, but everything was perfectly fine. The key was waiting for me, the breakfast on the following day was delicious, just as the cappuccino. Perfectly located, next to the Arsenale, also very close to the Venice Biennale facilities.

We stayed in this second floor b&b for 4 nights in a room with a magnificent view of San Giorgio in mid September and generally enjoyed our experience. Our room was large with traditional dark wood furniture but it perhaps was a little basic in appearance. The bathroom was excellent with modern fittings and piping hot water from the shower.... Welcomed on arrival, but no staff on site for most of the day. The room is small, but tidy and well appointed with a view to the back streets of Venice. Excellent location on the front just 15 minutes either way to the Bienalle or Piazza St Marco. Garibaldi street next door has loads of restaurants. Only downside was an... More

The b&b is centrally located (15 min walk from San Marco square) and some of the rooms have a stunning view of the lagoon (the boat traffic provides endless entertainment). I would highly recommend these rooms. The room is very large, the bed very comfortable, large bathroom but the shower does leave a bit to be desired (the doors came... More

If you can afford it, it is the joyce we recommand. Bu the simple ones are correct with anything you need. The service is... More

We stayed for a night and the place is ok.maybe location isn't the best, but Venice is a small place and by 15 minutes slow walk U are in the center. We had a perfect view from balcony and room was spacy, everything clean. WiFi didn't work at evening and some tourists was making a noise in lobby in early morning.

Nice and small bed and breakfast in the outside of Venice, but still in walking distance to everything and with a waterbus line nearby if you prefer. The place has a wonderful view, is nice and clean everywhere and the host is good at making you feel welcome and are very helpful to give advices for what to experience both... More

We had a great 2 night stay at this cozy B&B. It's a 5 minute walk from the Arsenale water taxi station and a 10-15 minute walk to the main San Marco square and hence very good location wise. The rooms and bathrooms are neat, clean and done up in a very Venezian style. Breakfast spread is limited but covers... More

The B&B is conveniently located near Arsenale stop on Line 1. Very clean and nice. Great views of the Grand Canal. My room, P2, the toilet was a small area as well needs new shower head. My only real disappointment is that there was no wi-fi and Giovanni really didn't care....

Giovanni is a great host who goes out of his way to make your stay remarkable. I booked the lagoon view room for 4 nights direct with Giovanni. Unfortunately he double booked the first night. He offered me a suite at the back and to compensate me he took me on a trip around Arsenale canals. The suite at the... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
