The Ca' Zusto is a splendid hotel, situated in the heart of a very quiet sestiere, far from the chaos of San Marco. From outside, the building looks like a typical Venetian palazzetto, but the visitor will probably be astonished to find that the inside is totally modern and colourful. The service is nice, the atmosphere quiet and relaxed. The perfect... More

We just spent 3 days in this hotel and we were fully satisfied: value for money! The staff was very friendly, helpful, informative and all speaking very good English. The room is nice and clean with the standard amenities. The only think I will mention is the bed, where you easily feel the springs in the mattress! Breakfast is a... More

My husband and I stayed here the first week of our honeymoon. It was a wonderful hotel. Breakfast was excellent. No wifi in room but it was free in the common area. We did have a little bit of a problem with the air conditioner (it kept turning on and off in the middle of the night) but I think... More

Our stay couldn't have been more delightful. The staff was incredible...helpful and friendly. Made us feel so welcome. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast, delicious and plenty to choose from. If we wanted something a bit extra, it was there for us. The location, was perfect. Close to the train station and we could walk everywhere from... I stayed at Domina Ca' Zusto in August 2015 for two nights and enjoyed my stay there. Staff was very friendly and helpful upon arrival. If you arrive by train, don't waste time going on the vaporetto (boat), just walk - it's faster. We made the mistake of thinking it would be hard to get to by foot, but we... More

We stayed at the Domina Home Ca'Zusto during the first 3 days of our honeymoon. After an easy booking process through Expedia, we received a detailed email from the hotel with all the information we could need as well as detailed directions. Having never been to Venice before and arriving late, we still got quite lost but managed to find... More

We stayed at this hotel during the last stop of our three week Italian honeymoon, and we were very happy that we did. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a Junior Suite! Our room was on the "second floor" (which should have been called the third, really), and we were brought their by the front desk clerk. The room was... More

This hotel is obviously very cute with the modern décor, but it is also very clean and comfortable. WiFi is only available in the lounge/breakfast area, but it is very nice in there, so I didn't mind that. It is in an area where locals live, so it was nice to get that perspective. The only negative is the location.... More

Ok so it's a tad pricey, but I guess thats just Venice. There are so many places to stay in there, at such wildly variable prices, it took us a long time to choose... But look no further! In the end we blew the budget a little and went for Domina Home Ca' Zusto - we were not disappointed. We... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
