Great hotel with fantastic location, 5-10 mins walking distance to Santa Lucia train station. A small hotel in the city centre nicely decorated with new and colourful furniture. The room come with trendy design and comfy bed. The bathroom is lovely and clean although the lighting seems to be a little too dim. The hotel staff are courteous, always give... More

Stayed here for 3 nights and had a very pleasant stay. The rooms are immaculately clean, the staff are tremendously welcoming and so very helpful, and the hotel is conveniently located, only a stone's throw away from the vaparetto stop "Riva di Biasio." Cannot fault it. If I have the pleasure of visiting Venice again, I will be staying here.

It was a little unfortunate we were only staying at the hotel for a single night before a cruise and even then our flight was delayed meaning we only had a short time to enjoy it. Despite that, it was pretty clear the hotel was good quality. The reception was welcoming and showed us to our room promptly. The facilities... More

Stayed here for two nights with my sister. The hotel is in a quiet location around 10mins walk from the train station and just around the corner to a small square with a few restaurants, bar and a coop. Our room was upgraded from a classic to one on the upper floor which I was pleased about. The room was... More

We had a very enjoyable 2-night stay at this small, friendly hotel. First impressions were that the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Our upgraded room was still small, but it's to be expected in Venice. The quiet location was perfect for us - all the main sights were easily walkable, but it was far enough away from the bustle of... More

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and were really impressed, the rooms were spacious, well decorated with all the required facilities. Staff were exceptionally helpful. Whilst a little off the beaten track it is close to Rive de Basio vaperetto stop. There are excellent restaurants nearby serving traditional Italian food at very reasonable prices. I have no problem... More

We have just returned from a long weekend in Venice, and stayed at the Domina Home Ca' Zusto. We were celebrating my 30th birthday so wanted something a bit special, so opted for this hotel as it was 4* and reviews were very good. Normally on a city break we don't mind a cheaper hotel as we spend so little... More

Venice is turning into a tourist trap with everything near the major attractions being made from China, however tucked away in a residential area, was this gem. We were luckily enough to identify it as a hot wire secret hotel and booked it :) We were on the 2nd floor, and unlike what some people say (must be on the... More

My wife and I stayed two nights in May and we were very happy with our choice of hotel. The building was clearly renovated recently as everything looked very new and clean. It also had a very modern look with obvious Venetian themes. This hotel is a great value because it is not on a canal or in a major... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
