We used TripAdvisor recommendations and booking.com to plan most of our accommodation on our recent European holiday and almost without exception we were delighted with our choices. Unfortunately we were overwhelmingly disappointed with our choice of the Avogaria Locanda. It is a very well located boutique hotel (if you want to escape the heaving summer crowds), however there is little... More

The Good: Location! The hotel is located in Dorsoduro which is a lovely part of Venice. We needed the convenience of a hotel by San Basilio as we were scheduled to cruise the following day. Dorsoduro has a promenade on the waterfront for wonderful walks along Calle del Vento and there are many restaurants in the area. The Bad: We... More

We stayed here for one night and we were upgraded to the suite whilst we were there, the room was very large and the decor was lovely. Bed was super comfy, the fridge a bonus and very comfortable all round. Good location, nice and quiet, breakfast was wonderful and our host was really nice and very helpful. Only downside is... More

This little restaurant is definitely worth the extra walk out west along Calle Lunga san Barnaba towards San Sebastiano. Lovely atmosphere and excellent kitchen. We had a delicious monkfish with sesame seeds, poppy and honey together with an equally delicious beef tenderloin which we washed down with a very gluggable sauvignon blanc called Mejo. The complimentary amuse bouche and limoncello... More

A lovely hotel, beautiful location, excellent decor. The big bonus of staying at this hotel was the lovely out door court yard. However a few small things that would make this hotel more appealing would be to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The fridge could have been colder and although we did not go to Venice... More

Stayed here for four nights in May, excellent location and ideal away from the bustle. Francesco attentive and was able to assist with any queries. We stayed in room Uno, which was spacious, had air conditioning, a safe, mini bar (not expensive) and a huge bathroom with a double walk in shower/wet room. It overlooked a small courtyard and was... This hotel has only three or four rooms. We booked one of the smaller ones but were upgraded to the largest one, which was really nice. The styling is modern without being sterile. It's very quiet. The breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We are travelling through Italy on our honeymoon and chose the Avogaria because it was in a great location and had was very competitively priced. The rooms are are really quite large and our room "Tre" had its own courtyard. Breakfast was included and was a delightful start to the day. The host couldn't have been more welcoming and all...
