Wonderful little hotel worth every penny. I believe it is a 4-star. Since Padova is a smaller city, you get a lot more for your money than a similar lodging in Rome. The staff was professional, courteous and helpful. Location couldn’t be beat, close to the markets and main commercial strip. (Try the little seafood cart in the Piazza della... more

If you are looking for location, location, location then this hotel cannot be beaten. Certainly not easy to find as it really is tucked away in the old city 'ghetto' - worth taking a taxi to the hotel. Very helpful Reception staff who went out of their way to assist especially with restaurant recommendations and table reservations (nearby Dal Capo... more

The hotel staff was helpful in recommending three nearby osterias, L'Anphora, Il Capo, and Osteria dei Fabbri (also in Rick Steve's book). The hotel breakfast was superb--the fresh baked pastries, hot chocolate and scrambled eggs were excellent as was the selection of fresh fruits. Our favorites were the mixture of red currants and small blackberries, the apple strudel, and the... more

This is a nice hotel in a really central location. I found the staff to be really friendly and the room (one bedder) was large and very comfortable. I notice some people have mentioned noise from the bar opposite and if you're sensitive to these things it could be a problem but you can shut the windows and the shutters... more

I was disappointed in our room Our room was really dreary. I was surprised, because I had read several upbeat reviews. There was construction going on in the courtyard behind our room, but we were not bothered by construction noise. The location is good. We had no trouble with street noise. We enjoyed one of the close by "student" restaurants.... more

I couldn't say anything negative about this Hotel. It had a small, intimate feeling. The rooms were very comfortable and made you feel at home with the furnishings. The staff was very accommodating. The hotel itself was beautiful and we especially liked the sitting room with the bar on the other side of the lobby. The breakfast was very good... more

We just returned from a week in Padova (April 2008), which we used as our base for day trips throughout the Veneto. We stayed at the Toscanelli, and our impression was very similar to most of the other Trip Advisor reviews: great location (20 minute walk to the train station, 2 minutes to the Palazzo della Ragione or Duomo), excellent... more

Since It was too late to find a room in Venice, from where we were boarding a cruise ship, we decided to stay in Padua It was a short train ride to Venice. We chose the Toscanelli Majestic because of it’s location. It really is in the heart of an interesting area. We enjoyed walking around Padua and are glad... more

After much research, I booked this hotel for a week. A bit expensive compared to the competition, but in the very best location if you are interested in the ancient city center. It is in a neighborhood known as "The Ghetto" and is full of upscale/bohemian/trendy places to eat and shop. It is just a two-minute walk to the fruit... more
