Recently returned from hotel des glaciers. Francesca, her family and team were so welcoming and friendly. they could not do enough for us. Every time we passed reception Francesca was there, she never seemed to rest, always ready to give us useful advice on directions, skiing conditions, or to serve us drinks in the attached taverna. It is a bit... More

I was staying in this hotel for skiing holidays and it was realy bad, because of lack of hospitality and very undelicious food. Our group of 30 people spen there 6 days, but unfortunatelly only one evening we had delicious supper, all other evenings the food was uneatable:( the breakfast also very poor:( we even bought eggs in the village... Stayed here as a family of 4 (2 teenage children). for a ski holday in February this year. The hotel was very clean and comfortable (basic standard room but comfortable and great views from many rooms), the food was typical of the region and the service was very friendly and helpful. The location was great if you are looking for... More

We have spent a long weekend in Hotel des Glaciers and we very much enjoyed it. Great value for money, very friendly people and good food. The hotel is only minutes away from the lifts. Highly recommend!

We had a really good ski trip which was made even better by his hotel. Not far to walk to dolonne lift and you can ski back even closer. Friendly, comfortable and with some great food. I agree the salad could be better but It really didn't spoil it. Not the cheapest place to stay but really helpful, comfortable with... More

The staff are excellent; friendly and helpful. The restaurant has good food but lacks interest. Two plates of tomato and lettuce isn't a sald bar. The rooms are small, poorly lit and have no adequate space to read. There is very limited space in the lobby. Nothing has been redecorated for 20 years.

The hotel is less than 10 minutes from the Dolonne lift in ski boots. It is a very comfortable, modest, hotel that is kept immaculately clean. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. All rooms are ensuite even if the style is somewhat dated. The demi-pension was excellent with a choice of evening meal courses to be made the day... More

This is a family run hotel and you are made to feel very welcome. Rooms are kept very clean. Handily located in Dolonne with commuter bus to Courmayeur stopping outside the hotel, but a pleasant walk to Courmayeur. Location is about a 10 min walk to the ski lift through the old streets of Dolonne which was a wonderful experience... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The ancient Glareys’ house stands in a quaint part of the incomparable valley of Courmayeur, at the foot of the Mont Blanc range. During the years, the building has been transformed from a traditional house - where our ancestors used to spend a simple and hard life - into a comfortable hotel. Hotel Des Glaciers has been run by the Pennard family since 1985 and it still maintains a traditional Aosta Valley atmosphere giving you an insight into the daily life of a by-gone age, from the XVII century to our days.Hotel Des Glaciers (altitude: 1.224 metres a.s.l.) is 250 metres far from the new Dolonne cable car (5 minutes on foot), 250 metres from the Forum Sport Centre and only 800 metres from Courmayeur city centre (10 minutes on foot). The picture windows of the restaurant look out over the Courmayeur valley, dominated by impressive peaks like Dente Del Gigante and Grandes Jorasses. Our Restaurant is also open to outside Guests. It provides half hoard (if requested, we offer lunch as well) with innovative recipes and the typical cuisine of the Aosta Valley. Our well-stocked wine cellar allows guests to choose from a selection of regional wines, perfectly matching with the meals. The breakfast buffet offers a wide choice of homemade cakes and biscuits, croissants, jams, yogurts, cereals, stewed fruit and juices.Hotel Des Glaciers has 17 rooms, all with en suite bathroom (with shower or bath) and equipped with telephone, colour LCD TV, mini bar, safe and hairdryer.A free wifi connection is available throughout the hotel.Hotel Des Glaciers offers its Guests: a bar; a nice garden with solarium and with a well-equipped play area for children where you can enjoy your time in a unique environment; free indoor and outdoor parking; a small museum gathering items collected by the owner’s father, ex alpine guide; a beautiful tavern decorated in a traditional alpine style with a fireplace and television where you can relax drinking a good hot chocolate, a tasteful cocktail or a “grolla dell’amicizia”.Thanks to its central location, all services are very close: the new cable car, the Fun Park, the slope taking back to Dolonne, the Forum Sport Centre, the “Courmaclub” disco and the sports shops. Hotel Des Glaciers is co-operating with Pré-Saint-Didier (6 km far from our Hotel) and Saint Vincent (60 km far from our Hotel) Spas in order to offer you hours of relax at a favourable rate. ... more   less
