Stayed here for a night while doing the TMB in July, and "excellent" is an understatement for how well-run Rifugio Bonatti is. We arrived around midday after the climb up the hill, and the first thing that greeted us was the view: squarely onto Mont Blanc itself. Staff were extremely friendly - always good to have after a long hike... More

Like most guests here, we stayed one night as part of the TMB and had booked a private room for two which was very clean, fresh sheets etc. Showers run with tokens, as with most of the high up Refuges along the way and were single sex and clean. Shared toilets and sinks with other private rooms but this was... More

We stayed one night in Refugio Walter Bonatti while on our Tour du Mont Blanc hike in August of 2015. This is a privately run refugio, and it is strategically located in a prime spot: it is one hiking-stage east of Courmayeur, so most TMB hikers will stop here. A list of things that I liked about Refugio Walter Bonatti:... More

The Rifugio Bonatti is just above the main route of the Tour du Mont Blanc. If you are walking the TMB there is little choice but stay there, unless you want to add considerable extra miles to this leg of the route. It is open March to April and June to the end of September. Its location is splendid with... More

This is a lovely mountain hut. Beautiful building both in and out, especially the dining area. Very, very clean be it in the bedrooms and bathrooms (considering the bathrooms are communal, the cleanliness during different times of the day was impressive compared to some real C*%P holes I've seen around the Alps over the years. The food served was excellent,... More

We stayed here our 4th night on the TMB, really nice place to spend the night after a very long day on the trail. Ended up staying in a 2 person room so I have absolutely no complaints. Showers were great as well as the meals and staff made for a great stay.

An absolute gem. Seen few refuges and this is by far the best. It is super clean. The showers are great and food excellent and cooked from fresh. Mara the gardienne is super nice. A must go. Price waa €85 for my guide and I plus coffees and drinks. Can't be beaten

If you are walking around Mont Blanc you have limited choices about where to stay without too many logistical gymnastics. This was my first 'hut' on the tour, having started in Courmayeur so I did not fully appreciate how comfortable it was. As others have said, it's top notch. Roomy, clean sleeping areas, we were in a six bed room.... More

great place, great staff (very friendly and informative), great food! (no polenta!) the only recommendation: (that is relevant to all the refugi) - have a more comfortable place to sit and meet other hikers.

Bonatti is spectacular, as has been described by other reviewers. This rifugio sets the standard and exceeds those on the TMB. I have not been to all the huts on the route, but I cannot imagine they match up to this one. It has a great location along the mountain range and the family operation makes it more enjoyable. Rooms... More
