Just returned from an excellent weeks skiing in Cervinia based at Hotel Marmore. Unpretentious family run hotel, with welcoming staff and very friendly atmosphere. We arrived very late at 11pm and were greeted with a lovely 3 course meal and wine. Rooms are simply furnished but well sized; all with baths and constant supply of hot water to ease those aching muscles! Evening meals come with 3 choices for each course -dishes tended to be locally based, simple but plentiful. Traditional continental breakfast.
Located right in the centre of town, it's only a few minutes walk to the Cretaz chair and you can ski back virtually to the hotel door - couldn't be more convenient. It may only rate 2 stars for facilities but in terms of friendliness and high standards of service was far beyond this rating. If you are looking for good value, convenience and the authentic Italian atmosphere we would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
