Set in an old castle inmidst vinyards, the hotel offers lots of charme. Close enough to the motorway, but far enough not to be disturbed by it. We found the beds however so uncomfortable, we used our own pillows. Great for one or two nights, probably not more.

It definitely starts out promising: a 17th century villa on a hillside overlooking a vineyard, with mountains in the background. A windy road, a big gate, a long cobblestone driveway... Ah, the romance of Italy! But in the end, the place is really just average. The rooms are stuffy, the furniture is old without being charming, the walls are covered... More

I feel bad giving such a terrible review for a place which is very authentic, cute and the owner seems very nice but there are some very serious issues with this hotel. Firstly the rooms are very old and upholstered which is fine except that I don't think it is very clean and my guess is that my husband's bites... More

We chose Trento as a stop over location on our road trip in Europe as we were making our way to Lake Como from Austria. It took a bit of finding on the SatNav but our tip is when the sat nav says you are there continue travelling away from Trento for about another half a mile and you will... More

I was traveling around Italy with a friend and I booked this hotel by it's location between Milan and Venice. We were looking for a local guest houses to stay, something more special than just a hotel, and I have to say this place hit the nail. Villa Bertagnolli was our favourite overnight place for the whole trip and many... More

I spent two weeks at Villa Bertagnolli while attending the 2013 World Universiade. The Bertagnolli family are excellent hosts and could not do enough for our group. Whether it was a late-night meal, transportation or advice on what to see in the little off-time that we had, Franco and Andrea were there for us. This villa has been painstaking restored... More

We were travelling back from southern Italy and picked this as an overnight stop because it was close to the autostrada. We arrived during the night and even with a GPS it was difficult to find but well worth the trouble. What a pleasant surprise to find a 17th century villa as comfortable as this was. The room was furnished... More

We booked this property for location. Intending to stay only one night we were not looking for a special experience. Our stay became one of the most pleasant memories of many years of traveling in Italy. Here we found hospitality, a clean and spacious room filled with antiques, an intimate restaurant with exceptional fine dinning all with in a very... More

We wanted to share with our two teenage sons an unforgettable trip to Europe. In an effort to experience more of the culture of our host country we decided to stay exclusively at B&Bs and avoid traditional western hotels. We stayed at the Villa Bertagnolli for four nights. Upon arrival after a long stressful travel day we received a relaxed,... More

We booked a room plus kitchen in the Villa Bertagnolli for 2 weeks in June 2013. The villa is charmingly rustic, being set back from the road and surrounded by vineyards. Our room was large and the furniture old but comfortably. The staff were very friendly (we don't speak Italian but as some of them spoke English that didn't prove... More
