This hotel is a destination all of its own. Not only does it have an incredible panoramic view of the mountains, but it has all the flavor of a restored villa. The owners are welcoming, the food incredible, and of course the wine is the best. Don't forget to sample the grapa that they produce themselves!

Just 10 min. from downtown Trento is la Locanda del bel sorriso, an ancient suburban Villa restored by the owner . The surroundings where the hotel is settled are quite suggestive. The rooms spreading along the old wood floors of the ancient building. The furnishing is what we can define as bric-a-brac but dont lack of carachter though. Maybe the... More

It is more than just a hotel! To start with, the rooms do not have numbers: they have names and each room has its own personality. Ours was very spacious and comfortable. It was also very clean. The property is a very old state, to which some modern amenities were added: bathrooms with good shower, heating, wifi, parking... and flowers.... More

This restored 15th cent. villa offers familial hospitality, splendid kitchen, great wines and grappas from its own vines, and breathtaking views at the bottom of the Brenner Pass. A double room cost less than $100 USD. Your hosts, a fascinating family, will feel like friends by your departure time. Their English is effortless. This is worth a trip to Trento... More

Stayed there for one night, booked 2 rooms for a family of 5. Kids had a room with a loft, they loved it. yes it is very hard to find, even with a GPS, definatley need more signs. Arrived early evening to closed gates. once in we went through a maze of floors and corridors to our rooms, never though... More

The place is a bit tricky to find especially during the night because you need to drive through all the small road up the hill but it was worth the search as the villa was really a nice place to stay. The villa has a nice view where one side is facing the vineyard. The host was really friendly and... More

A difficult place to find, expecially late at night; when we arrived we had to ring because the gate, which seems a castle's one, was closed. We slept there for one night, but we really enjoyed our stay: in fact birds and cocks had woken up us. It has a fable atmosphere, with a large room, but a small bathroom.... More

I want to thank the Bertagnolli family for a most wonderful stay at their villa in Mattarello, Italy. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The rooms were excellent, the food was great in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The grappa and house wine were fabulous. The staff at the villa were very polite and helpful. The villa was...
