My wife and I had no reservation, we walked in and got the grand reception. After an introduction to the facilities of the hotel we ended up with "a double with garden view". The room was impeccable, so was the balcony. Every corner of the hotel and the property was maintained and kept as well as lady's fingernails. We wanted... More

Have just returned from a two week stay in the Meranerhof Hotel in Merano. A very clean, comfortable, friendly hotel. All staff very attentive and keen to ensure you are happy with all aspects of hotel and service provided. Food is sublime. Make sure you accompany Peter from reception, on his weekly walk. You will have a day to remember.... More

Hotel Meranerhof is a majestic building next to the Passer River. It is a grand old building and run by the same family and Mrs Eisenkiel (not sure of spelling) greets each guest for dinner and she is always around checking up on things. Lovely lady and so friendly. I am in Room 207 - there are other rooms like... More

The Hotel Meranerhof stands majestically on the banks of the Passer River in the centre of Merano and it is quite simply perfect! Inside the hotel exudes the charm of a bygone era. We had a corner room (101) on the first floor – beautifully furnished and decorated in traditional style with a large crystal chandelier. Being a corner room... More

We have just returned from a seven day stay at the Meranerhof. Our flight was a little delayed and so we arrived just before 9 pm. The receptionist told us that if we could return from our room in five minutes then we could still eat in the dining room. This typified the helpfulness of the staff as we were... More

Previous recent reviewers have covered most of the benefits of staying at this wonderful family run hotel. It’s an immaculately maintained property in the centre of Merano, the meals are great (we stayed half board) and if you find five courses of beautifully prepared food for dinner too much, send it away! The waiting staff, especially the Maitre D’hôtel can... More

This is a high class hotel with excellent service. It does have a very traditional feel about it and some people might feel it is rather formal. The location in Merano is excellent as it is very central. There is little to fault about the hotel. Perhaps some might feel the meals are a little too extensive. Also the balcony for... More

We searched the Internet for spa cities in Northern Italy and were offered among others Merano or Meran. We discovered a beautiful area with a micro-climate that supports wine production, apples, cherries, strawberries and a vibrant tourism industry that caters for every age group and lifestyle. Census 2001 showed it had over 6,000 establishments and a whopping 237,000 hotel beds... More

We stayed for 10 days at this fabulous hotel but wish it had been longer. The hotel is in a prime spot on the banks of the river promenade and very much central for everything. The bus and train station are approximately 15 minutes walk away. From there you can venture further without difficulty. Merano is a wonderful place with... More

Just returned from a excellent stay at the hotel Meranerhof from 23/06/13 to 30/06/13. Booked a package holiday with UK tour operator Inghams with BMI regional flights from Bristol. The room on the 4th floor was a very good size with complimentary fruit, flowers and safe (25 euros refundable deposit required). The air conditioning was relatively quiet and the small... More
