Villa Tivoli has been run by a family for over 50 years. A second generation is now very much involved. Their pride an skill are evident, following an Alpine tradition. They take a personal interest in your stay and add to its pleasure. This is a hotel of 30 rooms on the edge of Merano, a largish town in the... More

At the end of a long lane this family run hotel has tonnes of charm and is just very slightly eccentric. It has nice views across the valley with some spectacular houses clinging to the almost vertical cliff face behind. The incredible gardens that have been built into the side of the adjacent mountain are an absolute joy. And the... More

Upon our arrival we were greeted warmly and offered a glass of prosecco on the patio. The room was lovely with high ceilings and French doors opening to a small balcony and a view of the hills and vineyards. It is an easy 15-minute walk into Merano to restaurants and shopping. The Frauen Museum was a special find. There are... More

We have just returned from Europe, and our first stop after Munich was Villa Tivoli. What a delightful place this was. Josephine K has already written an extensive review, which pretty much echoes what I was going to say. We really enjoyed our stay here; the staff were delightful and very helpful; the food was excellent, especially the breakfast buffet.... More

We have been visiting the Hotel Villa Tivoli nearly every year for a while now and felt it was time to say why. Owned and run by the family DeFranceschi, Helga, Carl and their son Rudi, it is set in the foothills of a mountain range amid cherished botanical gardens with paths winding up to an eye-wateringly fresh mountain pool.... This oldfashioned hotel greatly benefits from its location in the Meran outskirts close to the hills: With its huge green parc, bushes, trees and the secluded outdoors pool, it feels like coming back to nature after exploring Bozen or Meran. Staff is very attentative and the breakfast is delicious as well. We only found dinner in the erstaurant to be... More

We stayed at Villa Tivoli on our honeymoon and were made feel very comfortable, welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our week there. This family run business exudes competence, is extremely professional and everything is carried out to the highest possible standard - From the welcoming greeting to the departing gift we received. This is one of the best hotels that we... More

We stayed at the end of May 2010 at Villa Tivoli and we enjoyed it very much. Very nicely located in a beautifully landscaped park, the hotel is very quiet and has nice amenities, including a beautiful library. The restaurant's cuisine was perfect, but more important the restaurant decor where flowers are arranged differently each day at each table with... More

The Villa Tivoli is a perfect place to spend a relaxing week in Meran(o), Italy, a spa town in the German- (but also Italian-) speaking South Tyrol region of northern Italy, adjacent to the Dolomites. It is owned an operated by two generations of the Defranceschi-Steiner family, true hospitality professionals whose warmth and helpfulness ensure that your every need is... More
