This is beyond a shadow of a doubt the one hotel in the world where I have spent most nights in my life. Over a period of ten years I must have racked up a hundred by now if not more. That would be good, right? Well I don't know. I really like the place but that's in good part... More

I am afraid to say that my daughter and I were very disappointed with our room. We were paying Euros 125 per night and were expecting a comfortable room, not grand luxury, but not the tasteless room with which we were confronted. The beds were a little narrow with metal frames and no headboards, very functional bedspreads, no valances and... More

Our room was decorated in a charming, old-fashioned manner, but the bathroom was contemporary and functional, so, best of both worlds. The desk people and the breakfast staff were courteous and helpful, and the location is great for seeing the sights of Turin. We like the small, unique hotels, and found this to be a place we would recommend. There... More

We stayed in teh middle of August for City Tour. The location is great, parking is a bit expensive (20 euro per day) but you can park outside, 500 mt away, it's not so bad. breakfast is average, nothing special, staff is very helpfull and kind. Well, the hotel is really old and It would need a rennovation, but I... More

amongst 8 months in italy, staying all over the country...mostly in apartments, but a fair few hotels, we loved this place. It was charming and atmospheric. Nothing flash. It's not 5 star, it's old world charm and family run. wonderful staff. they make the place. they helped us so much. the rooms were simple, comfortable and had something abou them... More

We spent 2 nights at this hotel in May2010. Its location in the centre of old Turin is unbeatable, but the hotel is in serious need of renovation. Our room was one of the most depressing rooms we've ever stayed in, utterly devoid of any charm. I've seen photos of prison cells which look more attractive. It was furnished with... More

Stayed just one night on a trip south through Turin. Have traveled quite a bit in Europe and Americans need to understand older European hotels are not like American hotels. Yet, we will happily return to Dogana Vecchia when we go back to Turin. Our oom overlooked courtyard (secure parking for my car, a big plus) so it was quiet... More

We read about this hotel in the New York Times so I assumed that it would be a good choice. Wrong! I just looked through the other reviews & perhaps we should have asked for a different room but I will tell you what our room was like. We paid extra for a very dirty balcony which overlooked the parking... More

the photos of the rooms on the website make it look far nicer than reality. The bed was the worst we had in Italy in a month of travel. Could hear the springs and almost feel them just laying down on the bed. Air con was noisy, too noisy to use at night. Breakfast room was grand but service was... More

We were looking forward to staying in this hotel after reading reviews and seeing the website, but were disappointed to find a rather basic room for a high price. The room was filled with standard 80s style furniture (probably too much of it for the size of the room) so lacked the character we expected from this hotel. The mattress... More
