I am well travelled and have stayed in properties ranging from hostels to 5 *. This is a 3 star hotel and whilst there are a few faults this is a great little hotel, right on the square of Orta. Yes, because of this it is slightly louder from passing people traffic, but its really not a problem- close your... More

I have seen reviews which mention the open nature of the shower and water getting into bedroom of which is an integral part - did not see this as a problem at all. Others mentioned the breakfast and the constricted space. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice including fish and in June we were able to sit outside... More

Lake Orta is a beautiful place. We were there for my son's wedding so wanted a hotel centrally placed. On arrival we had to find a restaurant, where all the administration was done from. The keys to the rooms had numbers, but the rooms had names... Tired travellers are not known for their sense of humour... I mentioned my concern about... More

The room pictures are nice on Booking, but the real room is so shabby, stinky and depressing. The shower is in the middle of the room without tub or curtain, no wonder the water was all over the floor after we took a shower. The room is facing the main square, no soundproof, very noisy even after midnight. The wifi... More

The pluses and minuses of this hotel are all as per previous reviews. But the key point is that this place may be quirky but that it's charm. It is so nice to stay somewhere that is a little bit different and not like all the chain hotels. We loved Orta San Giulio itself, staying 3 nights as part of... More

There is no denying that Aracaoeli is an eccentric hotel, but eccentric like your very favourite aunt or uncle ... in fact the man who presides over the wonderful buffet breakfast would be welcome in our home any time! The hotel could not be more central ... our room, Sconsolata, had a balcony view which took parts of the village,... More

We arrived in the pouring rain, and from the train station it was impossible to work out how to get to the main square, and no taxis. Dragging bags on roads with no footpaths in the rain was not the best start, but we got there! We were rewarded with our room being upgraded to a one bedroom apartment due... More

Good if somewhat spartan room overlooking the square and fantastic breakfast but beware that reception is in a small office a hundred yards or so away and you are unlikely to get much sleep between late night drinkers (good luck to them I say) and early morning deliveries, street cleaning, etc.

The reception of the hotel is placed in a building away from the hotel....... I arrived at 08:00 pm and I had to call to check in..... Following several call attempts the owner answered and in an extremely rude way told me I should have checked in in the other building.......... P.S. The access to the hotel is in the... More

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and overall had a good experience. The pluses are that it is right in the centre of this beautiful town, the room was quirky but nice and the breakfast was excellent. The minuses were the loud sounds from the square late into the night, the difficulty getting there by car initially and the... More
