We have just returned from a holiday in the south of France and Northern Italy and took pot luck staying at the Miranlanghe, which we found by chance from another review.

This is not luxury, but very clean and comfortable with own toilet and shower. We found this very good value. Our total bill came to £127 - that was for two nights stay in a double room; a four course meal for two on one night; two bottles of wine and additional drinks. The food in the restaurant was good and 20 Euros per head for 4 course dinner, local wine 8 euros/bottle.

There is a simply amazing view from the hotel's balcony which looks out over the valley, the many villages perched on hills, vineyards etc.

This is a very picturesque part of the world - Piedmonte - full of interesting little villages, most with churches and towers, vintners and truffle shops (as this is a major truffle centre). We were also pleasantly surprised by the local town Alba which is full of old buildings... more
